Don’t tell me I can’t save a document because it is saving
I'm going back to the 2019 version. There are no benefits that I can find to using 2020. First of all, there's the issue of it telling me every time I try to do save-close that it can't close the document until it's done saving it. YES, I KNOW that - I simply don't want to sit here and wait on it, I've got other things to do.
And on top of that, none of my fonts look pretty and clean like in 2019 and every previous version of illustrator.
I WON'T be going back to 2020 until you can prove to me it's actually better.

Illustrator 2020 performance significantly slow/sluggish -
Sorry, can't recommend upgrade of 2020 to my colleagues. I work for a large Engineering firm and we have powerful computers. We have critical deadlines for Q4-2019 - Upgrading to 2020 will be a big mistake as it will cause delay to our projects and stress to the members .
Saving files takes too long, copying takes system long to process - pasting is fine. Adding text is ridiculously taking forever and it creates its own textbox size - It feels like going back to AI CS6.Suggest to review what you had for AI 2019- this was one of the best versions.

[MINOR BUG] Drag fx from the appearance panel unto objects... it doesnt work
Dragging a 'completed' effect: from the Appearance panel unto a new object ( to recreate the same effect ) doesn't work using the hand grab tool.
I want to be able to drag effects that I've already made - from one object and reproduce them unto another...
please try to do that and see if it works for you - on your end.

Radial Array Feature (akin to AutoCAD)
I know there's a workaround whereby one can accomplish this, or nearly so, with the rotate/copy function; however, the implementation is somewhat inelegant, especially for new users who might not be aware of the 360/x syntax. It has been a number of years since I have used CAD, but I recall the Polar Array command being much more full-featured and am struck that AI still doesn't have a better way to do this. In point of fact, a liner array wouldn't be a bad addition, either, and would save the headache of trying to do it with patterns or aligns.
1 voteIt does not work exactly like Polar Array in AutoCAD, but recent Radial Repeat is very much similar to this function you wanted. the main difference you do not specify a circle before, but after you generate an array.

More our customers have AI format cutting file, now they need to transfer AI to DXF, and send DXF file to our digital cutter for cutting process.

Take UI problems from users serious!!
Schön wäre es wenn man das UI "dezent" bzw. stufenlos skalieren könnte.
Am Retina iMac ist die kleine Schriftgröße und Symbolgröße in den Bedienfeldern eine Katastrophe!Schön wäre es auch wenn Voreinstellungen von Indesign, Illustrator und Photoshop alle am selben Ort zu finden wären.
Und eine dezente UI Skalierung für Indesign und Photoshop wär auch ein Hit. Ich verstehe nicht, warum man dies nur für Illustrator gemacht hat und da nur schlampig.1 vote -

Blurry text on dialogue prompts (such as Export)
On the prompts that have the options for "Use Artboards", the text is blurry.

Layer name suffix when pasting in XD (behaviour changed in 2020)

When I copy and paste vectors from Illustrator 2020 to Adobe XD, suffix "1" is being added to each later.
This doesn't happen when I copy from Illustrator 2019 so I assume this have benn changed in Illustrator 2020, not XD.
- Why is this valuable to you?
I create all my icons in Illustrator but keep them in huge XD file so that devs can easily get them as SVGs.
With this additional suffix, my workflow is slower as I have to remove them each time I add new icon to XD file.

Carry decimals in the Artboard Size to ten thousandths
Carry decimals in the Artboard Size to ten thousandths so it matches the Transform palette. Right now you can only view the accurate Artboard size in the Document Info palette.

Fix fonts in the symbol library
When a custom-made symbol uses a font, the symbol is expanded and the fonts are eventually outlined, the fonts still show in the “Find Font” menu even know there is no editable text in the document.

Fix Black Overprints
Fix the appearance of black overprint so that other colors are visible under solid black when overprint preview is on (unless I'm missing something, this used to work in older versions).

Nodal Interface for Actions Creation
Similar to 3DCC software and video compositing software, I would like to see a nodal interface where we could add different menu items and specific actions into a tree and have them end in an output node, allowing reuse of specific actions and menu items within the tree in a single action.
I'd also recommend there to be a way to group some of the nodes and be reusable/ able to add them into other action node trees as subgroups. That way some very complicated actions could be recycled instead of always being recreated from scratch.
I have been making better use of the action panel lately, and as I go back to them I find I need to recreate elements of them so that I can create new combinations for specific purposes. A node editor interface might be easier to get deeper control of the tools at hand.

Renaming Slices for Easier Export
Since slices allow us to optimize to a set file size, we use sliced artboards at work to quickly create/export jpegs for the Google Display Network and for our sites. We've made the process pretty seamless with solid templates, but the only thing we haven't figured out how to do is rename the slices. The default is FileNameSliceNumber, but that slice number doesn't help us see the dimensions at a glance. If in our template we could rename slice "04" to "728x90" or whatever custom descriptor was necessary, we wouldn't need to manually change the slice name when delivering assets to vendors and clients.

Improve resolution of dock panels so they're the same as other Adobe apps
The resolution of the dock panels (Layers, Art boards, Character etc) are all a lot bigger than in other Adobe apps, please make these the same size as the other apps.
I have a second screen with all relevant dock panels opened. If they were the same resolution as PS/ID then more could fit on the screen.1 vote
