Image Crop Feature
This is a bug with regards to Image crop feature in Illustrator.
While I try to unembed a cropped image (in Illustrator) and link to a PSD source file, the source PSD file gets flattened or layers get merged to a single layer. The source PSD file gets altered and damaging it.

Cancel button in progress bar window
What I figured out right now, is that you can't really press Cancel when you accidentally launched a complex process.
Applying filter, saving, complex transforming — it just won't respond no matter how quick you are and how strong you push that mouse button.
Is there any way that Illustrator will hold a bit of it's attention to actually letting users cancel what they want and make this button a bit less decorative?20 votes -
Option for Artboards to be non-printing
Would be very useful if there could be a setting in the Artboards palate that could make them 'non-printing' (Like in Layers) - I use a lot of pre-prepared template files and sometimes don't use all Artboards, so to 'turn them off' rather than having to delete (as I may need them later in a job) or keep changing print options would be great.

Define a default color for a layer
Define a default color for a layer, that is, whenever you create a new layer in illustrator it will keep the programmed color, so it will no longer generate a different color for each new layer created.

Copy Live Type into Indesign in Preserving text boxes
I work on graphic novels where the type layers are set in PS (ugh)
Brought into Illustrator as editable text. Would love to be able to copy and paste the entire page as editable formatted text into InDesign,

Being Able to toggle between selecting All Anchor Points on a Selected Object and All Objects
Hitting Apple+A (or Control+A) to be able to select all Anchor Points on the Currently selected object and toggle between this and selecting all points on all layers

Pushing Fresco projects to Illustrator retains the layers, but does not bring any of the color pallet.
Illustrator should create a swatch for every color used in a Fresco project that is imported.

search
Hi, it's hard to find a certain path/vector art assets from the layers menu if the list is super long. My suggestion for the search function is when you click the asset on the art board, you can simply hover your mouse over the layer's list and click e.g. ',' (comma) and it shows you the right art asset from the layers' dropdown list.

Option to add dimensions to current layer
I enjoy the new dimension tool but find it annoying that it creates a whole new separate layer. Maybe my workflow is unconventional, but it would be nice if the dimensions could just be added to my print instructions layer instead of a whole new layer just for the dimensions. I make a lot of diecuts and find myself still using old methods to create the dimension lines due to it always putting them on another layer.

Assets Export - add "Find" option by asset name
I'm looking for just option to filter assets at Asset Panel. It's easy to select some assets, for example I have objects names "ground_xx.png" and I want just export them now, so I can type in filter "ground" and it will be filtered from all other my assets, and yes, better to add option select filtered.

Select same, with multiple selectable attributes and customisations
When using the Select Same feature we need a lot more options, like all objects with the same transparency effect AND opacity AND tint AND line weight etc, that can be selected from a list of attributes. Same sort of list as the options list for the Eyedropper Tool (see screenshot).
It should be split into sections that allow vectors graphics selections as above, but also things like selecting all linked items that are the same file AND the same size AND rotation AND opacity.

Streamline the Fresco To Illustrator Export Process
Like many I use Illustrator for its Vector properties in order to animate within After Effects, with the agility to scale up assets infinitely when clients change their minds about shots & movements.
iPads Adobe Draw, meant my assets could become so much more detailed. Which was great! While the push to desktop feature was glitchy for me at best it still mostly resulted with having a neat AI file version of the Draw one. That I could Import into AE with ease. Update with ease. etc.

Missing a Modal Pop up
Dear Adobe...
If I spend time organizing my art and putting it onto multiple layers and contains HUNDREDS of pieces, when I make a masking layer you take my artwork and smash it all into one layer WITHOUT popping a modal saying this will smash it all into one layer and waste a day of your life having to re-organize it into layers again because a stakeholder requested edits...You failed me. Making a light prezi like presentation mode inside adobe illustrator by defining views and a presentation view panel
Please add a presentation mode functionality, something like prezi or focusky like animations between views inside illustrator itself.
The user should have ability to define views inside art boards. Each view consists of scale, rotations and position like prezi, on every slide change the view changes animatingly between the views.
For now I use Shift + page down and page up to switch between artboards. But not inside an artboard and not with animations. I push f twice and enter full screen and its cool. But there can be a lite presentation mode managed by a small panel, containing views,…2 votes -
Real Isolation Mode
We need a Real Isolate Like in 3D Apps.(3DS Max - C4d )
I mean that when I select an object /s (better with a toggle shortcut key) I can only see it/them. and when I exit Isolation it turns to the main Scene
no need to create unneeded layers for a simple function

normal map
As It's already existing in Photoshop, and as there are some Photoshop filters applyable in Illustrator, I was wondering if we can get the "convert to Normal Map" filter directly in Illustrator.
It may be useful and more efficient than using AI + PS to generate some Normal maps based on vector graphics.

Provide layer info of linked file in Links panel! helpful when missing link is on inactive layer...
In multi layered files it is very difficult to spot a missing link if it is not on a visible layer. A simple mentioning of this in the info section would solve this

Hello Everyone, I am using Illustrator 25.0.1 version which I updated recently from 25.0, 2021 version. During work I have noticed a small problem in Layers option. First when I copy some artwork from one file which is SPLIT in different LAYERS to another file it does not give me the same SPLIT layers in the new file but put it only in one layer instead.

Add option to Import DXF tool
Hello,
I have some request about the Import DXF feature.
When opening a dxf file, the window ask if we want to scale the file to the artwork, but not the opposite.
When opening a file at scale 1:1, it could be valuable to set the size of the artboard to the limits of the dxf file, as you have to do manually (most often) after you open it.
It could also be cool to have a window showing the list of layers in the file and give the option to make a selection of those you want to import…5 votes
