  1. New file format defaults to pdf instead of AI

    Since newest update, when saving a new document, the file format defaults to PDF instead of ai. Please change it back to default to ai, I will decide when I want to make a pdf.

  2. Can't Save multiple artboards as a Single File PDF from Export for Screens in 29.6

    Even though the single file option is checked, multiple artboards will not be saved in a single file, but as separate PDFs.
    This worked in previous versions.

  3. Unable to export blank canvas using 'Export to Screen Multiple Formats'

    Cannot export blank canvas using 'Export to Screen Multiple Formats'.
    When making a brochure, one page is blank, but when using "Export to Screen Multiple Formats" to export, it prompts that a blank canvas cannot be exported.

  4. Warning message for over 15 years "This file has been modified outside of Illustrator"

    There needs to be a way to disable this warning message. I have only seen this error in Illustrator, and it has been around for over 15 years with no solid solution. It appears to be related to file timestamps, but when a user is working on a file, saved on a file server, and they are the ONLY one who has access to the file, this error should NEVER appear. This error appears for Windows or Mac users, saving files on either a network or cloud storage location. So far, Adobe's solution is "just save the file locally". This…

  5. Search for a file name in the Save As dialog on Mac doesn’t work

    When saving a file, searching for a filename, to add a V2 or FINAL as the end of the file name, does not work.

    I am using illustrator 2025 on Mac OS 15.4.1

    I have made sure that illustrator has full disk permission. See attached screenshots.

  6. I have no idea what's going on when I try to save an image as Adobe PDF

    The app does not respond whenever I try to save my work under “Adobe PDF”. This has caused me to lose some of my works. I tried reentering Illustrator multiple times and yet it still happens.

  7. Saving as PDF loses all artwork outside of artboard - THIS HAS TO BE FIXED

    For 15 years I have never had an issue saving files as PDFs. I have always used the save as Smallest File Size PDF option, I do a lot of large format printing so this is necessary in order to rip files in a timely manner to the printer. Now when I save a pdf all my artwork that's outside the artboard disappears, hours upon hours of artwork just gone, no warning. Its bad enough there is no longer a way to purchase the software so having to pay monthly and the constant terrible updates are ruining me and my…

  8. Illustrator Fails to Save as PDF or .AI After macOS Sequoia 15.4.1 Update — Skips Artboards, Crashes, and GPU View Greyed Out

    After updating to macOS Sequoia 15.4.1, Adobe Illustrator 29.5 (2025) is experiencing critical issues. When attempting to save as a PDF, it skips artboards, takes an unusually long time to load, and often crashes or shows an “unable to save” error. Saving a copy in .ai format also fails, regardless of location or file setup. Additionally, the “View Using GPU” option is inexplicably greyed out on some files, despite running on compatible hardware. These bugs are severely disrupting workflow and need urgent resolution.

  9. L'Importation ne fonctionne pas correctement depuis la mise a jour a illustrator 2025

    Bonjour, Depuis le passage a illustrator 29.5 la fonctionne d'importation depuis le menu Fichier ne fonctionne pas correctement : un grand cadre apparait apres validation de l'importation mais l'objet importé n'apparait pas !!!

    Seule solution : faire un drag and drop depuis l'explorateur !! Une catastrophe !

    I use PDFs for proofs to send to clients. They tend to make AI crash more than any other issue I have.

  12. SVG "Export" or "Save as" not working

    Unable to export or save any file as SVG unless I select an artboard, never had issues with this before. It does nothing when trying to, not even a error message.

  13. SVG files open altered

    My files are continuously saving incorrectly. They look great when I save, but when I close out and open it later, things are not as they were. Anchors/handles jump out of whack, stylized effects disappear, rasterized images go blank or disappear; it is maddening. I cannot use this program if my files do not reopen as I saved them. They are exactly right when I hit save, but upon reopening, or opening in another program, they are altered in infuriatingly time-consuming ways.

    Possible related symptoms -- upon saving a file, Illustrator regularly tells me my file has been modified outside…

  14. While the file is still running in the software, it has vanished from the folder.

    Regretfully, my file is no longer in the area where I saved it, but it is still open in the software, and I am unable to save it to any folder or Adobe Cloud. I don't know why this is occurring.

  15. Objects vanish when a PDF is exported

    The PDF document is not being saved correctly. I have tried saving it in different ways, changing the elements and it still isn't working. I believe it is a problem in Acrobat itself perhaps?

  17. Asset export does not include appearance outside bounding box area of text objects (preview bounds are ignored)

    In Illustrator 2025 (using version 29.3.1), when exporting assets, appearance elements outside the bounding box area are cut off.
    In 2024 (28.7.5) and 2023 (27.9.6), all elements are exported without cutting.

    Reproduction Procedure
    1. create a text object
    2. add a bold stroke color to the text
    3. add as an asset export item
    4. export the asset

    Expected result
    Designs with stroke color should be exported as in previous versions without problems.

    Appendix.
    If a fill is added instead of a line and “path offset” is applied instead, this problem can be avoided because the bounding box is extended.

  18. SVG保存時にスワッシュ字形等が書き出されない

    Illustrator ver.29.3.1

    再現手順
    1. 新規ドキュメントを開きアートボード上に「Air」と入力し欧文フォント（スワッシュ字形が有効なもの）を指定する。
    2.OpenTypeパネルの「スワッシュ字形」と「タイトル用字形」をクリックする。
    3.SVG形式で保存。その際、フォントをサブセットで埋め込む。
    4.ブラウザ等で確認するとスワッシュ字形等がデフォルトの字形で表示される。

    期待する結果
    スワッシュ字形やタイトル用字形が正しく表示される。

    実際の結果
    スワッシュ字形やタイトル用字形が標準字形になる。

    SwashやTitlingAlternatesはスタイルに対してfont-feature-settings等の設定が必要になりますが、Illustratorはそういった設定を保存しません。また、フォントサブセットを保存した場合でも標準字形のグリフが保存されます。

    Step to Reproduce
    1. open a new document, type "Air" on the artboard, and specify a western font (with swash glyphs enabled).
    2. Click "Swash" and "Titling Alternates" in the OpenType panel.
    3. Save the file in SVG format. (Embed the font as a subset.)
    4. When we check the file in a browser, the swash and Titling Alternates will be displayed as default glyph.

    Expected Results
    Swash and titlling Alternates are displayed correctly.

    Actual result
    Swash and titleling Altermates are fallback…

  20. White words invisible on export

    There is a bug after I import the file form InDesign. I have some words on a sheet made in InDesign, then save it as PDF, then import to Illustrator, and then the bug is coming — if i create new words in Illustrator and use the Eyedropper to click the words on the sheet to change the color to White, and export as JPG, the words won't be show up, but black color would.
