Oversize UI Elements in Ai 2019
I noticed that with the 2019 version of Illustrator (23.0), the entire UI of the software seems to be "supersized." It is as if every pixel is now rendered oversized. Not just in the drawing area, but all the tools, controls, panels, everything.
I've attached a "full screen" screen shot of the 2019 (v. 23.0) welcome screen, and the (reinstalled) 2018 (v. 22.1) welcome screen. Both are maximized on the same physical screen, the display on my MacBook Pro. See how the buttons and other elements are larger in the 2019 version? Like it is somehow zoomed in.
I do not believe this is the same as the "Actual Size" feature/bug mentioned elsewhere, as it seems to effect the entire User Interface, although it could be related.
MacOS Sierra (10.12.6), MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Late 2013)
Anyone else experiencing this?
Paul
Please refer to the link below to understand how to use Illustrator’s preference dialog to set the scale.

thanks for the solution. well, seems like the apd isn't so good in "automatically" adjusting to the screen resolution of a specific screen, since we are all here suddenly looking how to bring our dear illustrator back to normal - major user experience "falta"

For me, it's is also messed up since the latest update. I used to have this set to one setting from the smallest size, which was suddenly huge. Setting it to the smallest size, however, makes it way too small. The issue seems to lie in Illustrator's handling of my external display (thru Blackmagic EGPU) , since it's fine when working on my Macbook Pro screen.

Worked great. I've been working in AI for 15 years but never touched the UI pref. Thx!

Have you tried Edit >> Preferences >> User Interface >> UI Scaling >> Small?
