Too small to use?
When scaling down a complex drawing especially one created by image trace it often says cannot complete the operation because it would make some objects too small to use. So how can i scale my group? Can you just disappear those objects? If they are too small to use they must be too small to see so make them go away. Or it could automatically select them so you have the option to delete them. It seems silly that i can't make something the size i need because a part of it is too small to use. I'm on mac os sierra 10.12.8 and my adobe applications are up to date.
Please accept my sincere apology for the inconvenience. Please get in touch with us at any of the other support channels – https://helpx.adobe.com/support.html . Since this is not a generic issue that we can reproduce at our end, we will need someone to look into your machine to figure out what is going on here.

Found a workaround for this error. If you know your percentage to scale, use the width and height in the tool bar (link them) and enter your value as a multiplier or fraction to the existing size.
EDIT: Right after posting this I discovered that after using this workaround, I can now use the scale dialog with no problem.
In fact, further investigation revealed that if i used the scale dialog and shrunk my art to 99.99% first, I can then use it again at any percentage I want with no error, regardless of how small I make it.
Yo, Ashutosh Chaturvedi. this is most generic. error illustrator faces for ages. Please come with a solution that illustrator deletes elements that are too small to use.
I have similar problem. I have link of picture and I can't select it, only in the layers. The size is 0,5 inch. I could select it by click on it when it was bigger.
I found a workaround for this, set the artboard size to your desired need and resize group using handles using artboard as a guide. My drawings wouldn't scale by percentage but will do via that method.
Agreed, this is a generic issue. I get the same notice when double clicking the scale button and typing in a percentage. I have image traced a hand illustration that I scanned in and converted. I made the drawing twice as large as I needed it knowing that once I scale it down, it will "sharpen" the image. I made all my adjustments, double clicked the scale box, typed in 50% and like Ray, got that message. The real issue is just in the dialog box scale method because I can single click the scale tool, hold down the shift button and resize the same group as small as I want. What happens to those objects then? Well, whatever happens then is what needs to happen in the dialog box method.
This is a generic issue that happens with everyone. Its been happening in every version for the last 15 years.
