Tilde key to move a pattern within shape not working
My Tilde/Graves accent key is no longer working to transform a pattern within an object. Normally, I can rotate or move around a pattern when I hold it down without moving the object. It hasn't worked since my last update.

Hi Everyone,
Backquote(`) can be used to transform a pattern within an object. Documentation is also updated for the same https://helpx.adobe.com/illustrator/using/default-keyboard-shortcuts.html.

Going back and forth between the preferences pane or the scale dialog just to do something so simple is nuts. Please fix!

Please adobe for the love of god fix this. I have the same version of .ai at work and at home and for some reason on my home computer, the tilde/graves key is not working.

It was working for me and all of a sudden stopped working a couple days ago, along with the spacebar shortcut for the hand tool... Very frustrating.

I'm using Adobe Illustrator 24.3 on Mac with Operating System High Sierra (10.13.6). Tilde shortcut for Pattern Move/Scale/Rotate stopped working. I was using this shortcut with 100% success until a few days ago. Also SPACEBAR shortcut for the hand tool appears to have ceased to work as well. Not yet sure if more shortcuts were affected.

In addition it would be very important to make this kind of modifier key (there are several like it) platform independent as well as language independent.

You can move patterns while holding ~ and click+dragging with the Selection Tool (v).
However, its implementation is terrible. There's no live preview of the pattern moving, so you just have to keep click-dragging, releasing, and re-adjusting. It's tedious and imprecise.
You can instead use the Move dialog (select the object and hit Enter/Return). Here, you can use Transform Pattern to move the pattern by precise increments with live preview.
Please, Adobe, make this function more intuitive.

Have you tried using "~" instead of ">"? This may be a keyboard language issue.
