Can't do changes to the containing folder - gude
A text file named "gude<current date>" is created in the destination folder. Can't do changes to the containing folder.
I am happy to share that we have fixed this bug in our latest release – 27.3.1 which is available worldwide now.
Going forward, our goal is to fix as many top User-Voice bugs as possible and as frequently as possible. Given the nature of the fixes, some of the bugs will take a longer time to fix, but we are on it.
You can update to the latest release using Creative Cloud desktop App: https://helpx.adobe.com/in/creative-cloud/help/creative-cloud-updates.html
Thank you for all the feedback. Keep it coming!

This small bother applies also to PHOTOSHOP.

This really messes things up when using files in folders that are part of file share services. It also creates trash files that need ignored for version control. Fixing is important, and shouldn't take months.

Happens to me with Photoshop also. Started when I upgraded from Windows 10 to Windows 11.

There are multiple threads on multiple forums regarding gude file issues, going back more than a year. Seems to affect AI and PS the most.
Some people have found workarounds. Many have not. Adobe doesn't show any signs of caring one iota.
Good luck out there.

******* Adobe, fix things, not break them when you do updates!!

For the same problem in Photoshop, downgrading to version 24.0.1 fixed the issue for me. Also, the problem reportedly happens when double-clicking to open a file in Windows File Explorer, and not when opening a file from inside Photoshop or Bridge. See https://community.adobe.com/t5/photoshop-ecosystem-bugs/p-photoshop-gude-log-created-when-working-with-files/idi-p/12878831.

Happening to me, too in Photoshop as well. Began this week, appears to happen with psd files that I have downloaded from my web browser (I teach a class with illustration, and the homework files are submitted through a course website).
I have not had the gude files appear when opening older files psd files that originated on my own computer.

Previous thread marked as fixed... But not fixed at all:
https://community.adobe.com/t5/illustrator-discussions/gude-log-illustrator/td-p/12960632Community seems to be pretty frustrated about this issue that has been ongoing for a while now. True in Photoshop and Illustrator...
Messes up all cloud sync whichever the cloud sync provider might be. The workaround provided in the other thread is not working at all. Please fix this !

Same problem here, with Illustrator only. Started generating gude files and random png files about a month ago. Updated Illustrator and it still does it. I can delete them after Illustrator is closed some of the time. After a hard boot, I can delete them about 95% of the time (PC — MSI Creator 17)

This is not only a problem with Illustrator, but with Photoshop as well! Each time I open an image, which I use in Adobe Captivate, publishing from Captivate is impossible. I have to quit Photoshop/Illustrator first. That´s annoying and extremly slowing my work performance!
