Elements placed on top of a Dynamic Symbol disappear when exported as JPEG
Any element placed on top of a dynamic symbol looks hidden behind the symbol when exported as JPEG.
Works in 2023, stopped working in 2024 version 28.5

Merging sounds good to me. For what its worthI ended up going backto an older version of Illustrator to 'solve' my problem for now. Lemme know if any future updateshave resolved this issue!

I agree to merge, please do so.

Good idea to merge these.

Seems to be similar with this one:
When dynamic symbols are used and exported in JPG, the stacking order is reversed

macOS・Windows
Illustrator ver.28
EN

1. Do not use dynamic symbols.
2. Remove links to symbols before exporting.
3. Export in other file formats such as PNG.See also the following Adobe Community post

Thanks for your response Egor! I've attached the AI file as well as an exported JPG where the tif file went away and one where it didn't. After playing around for a bit I'm starting to think that tif files layered on top of symbols seem to be disappearing. o maybe it has something to do w the symbols? On a related note about symbols I notice that when I make them too small they disappear (usually only if they are too complex). I normally have mockups set to 8.5 x 11in for printing but I experimented with larger artboard sizes and the symbals still disappear when scaled too small (even thigh relatively larger than on an 8.5 x 11in artboard)
Any help or advice is appreciated although for now I may break and expand all symbols before exporting and then just wont sdave the AI file.
Thank you, happy Friday! -
Curt, thanks for the report. Not good!
It’s not clear exactly how do you put the images as an overlay. Is it just clipped, or used as an opacity mask?
Can you please package a test file with one of these included and send it to the team to investigate, using sharewithai@adobe.com? -

I use TIF files for distress overlays in mockups and I'm noticing they are not showing up in exported JPGs like they used to. The .ai file exports as a JPG and all the art is there except the TIF files, they disappear.

Yes, Egor, I wonder how this was introduced. Both export as jpeg and dynamic symbols have been around for a long time.

Yep, I confirm this. So frustrating to see new bugs multiply and older ones get piled over.
