PARM error with Bounding Box or Free Transform when scaling an image

I just started to get this error... on the newest version of Illustrator 29.6.1 ...when trying to scale an image up/down in size...

Any good ideas how to fix?

    Hello Adobe Support,

    I’ve encountered an error while using Adobe Illustrator. When attempting to use the Bounding Box or the Free Transform tool, a pop-up appears with the following message (translated from Portuguese):

    “The Bounding Box or Free Transform encountered an unknown error.
    Error: PARM”

    Here is a screenshot of the error message:

    This issue prevents me from using basic transformation tools. I would appreciate any assistance or clarification on what might be causing this and how to resolve it.
