Font drop down list won't allow font selection.

Adobe Illustrator 2026 version 30
My font drop-down list allows me to preview fonts, but not select them. If I preview and click a new font to select it, the type window closes and my select text reverts to the original font. I've tried using the text tool and the selection tool - same problem. To change a font, I must type the ENTIRE NAME in the font window and hit return. Very time consuming. :(

Using Tahoe 23.2 and AI 30.1 with Connect Fonts 28.0.1.
The font will temporarily preview in the dropdown window and in the file, but then changes back to the previous font. Whatever font is in the saved file loads and previews, but no placed fonts can be changed to a new face.

Windows11, 2025 and 2026 application are same trouble now.

I do not. The font drop down list stopped working after Installing AI 26 version 30. It still works in AI 25.

By any chance — do you have the Wacom driver installed? There was a report recently that it has problems when installed at Sequoia, suddenly with text...
Was it working for you better in the previous Ai builds?
