1. Saving, Opening, & creating files Not Responsive with Unstable Internet Connection

   Illustrator saving, creating files, and opening files seems to be tied to an internet connection, and it really fails if the connection isn't strong/stable. And this was only an issue with Illustrator (found with 24.2.3 & 24.2.0) with Photoshop and Indesign continued to function normally.

   For two weeks I began experiencing very slow saving, it being "not responsive" for about 10 minutes to save any file. I eventually found it was tied to my internet connection. I recently switched my home network to data from a mobile hotspot which works find but isn't always stable. So the saving issue wasn't happening all the time, but most of the time.

   I eventually found that if I disabled my internet connection these operations, Saving, Opening, & creating files, began working normally again.

2. Saving Issues on Large Artboards

   I am working in the Illustrator 2020 with Windows 10. The issue I have is that when I initially work on a project with an artboard say 300"x300" it works great and seems to save just fine. However after I close out and go to re-open the saved file it comes in at 10% scale. My new artboard is 30"x30". Am I missing something? I feel like the file should remain how you saved it.

3. Subsequent document saves

   Whilst working on a document in the latest version of Illustrator, any subsequent saves after the initial first saves is not guaranteed to have saved. Instead I may find a temp file in the folder alongside the original version rather than the fresh updated document. This is the first time in any versions of Illustrator that I have experienced this and am extremely worried as to what other documents have supposedly been updated but haven't really?

   Before you ask, yes, I did refresh my folders and also opened the illustrator file to only find that the changes made have not been implemented. The temp files did however have the changes on them and so after opening the temp files, I cleared the folder and saved a fresh Illustrator file, as per the attached screen capture of my waste bin.

4. illustrator bug erasing files

   I save all files locally. Yesterday i made a 'v2' of a project, saved in the same location as the 'v1', had both opened and worked on the v2, and exported PNGs from it to use in another app (saved frequently between edits). Today I discovered the PNGs and v1 are still in the folder, but not the v2.

   It is not listed in my Mac's 'recent files', it doens not turn up in search, it is not in the cloud storage, i did not use an external, and I also did not accidentally erase the file-go into the trash- and accidentally erased it again for good.

   Is anyone else beginning to experience files just dropping off the face of their computer? This only started for me after the previous Illustrator error of 'an all black screen when having more than one file open' stopped.

5. Saving documents

   Please restore the save parameters. Or at least give a prompt if the save gets interrupted. My saves keep getting interrupted and I often loose the changes to the original file if I have to save as a different format, like a PDF. It's been very problematic and I have had to reproduce my original files once I lose the changes while trying to save a low-res PDF, for example. Thank you!

6. SVG files doesn't open correctly. - Illustrator

   I have added as attachment the .svg files which aren't opened correctly, it is kinda only showing the filling.

   This problem accures in Illustrator Windows, and iPad OS, didn't tested on mac right now, but i don't have big hope.

   My guts tell me that there is a newer SVG standard, which isn't implemented yet?

8. export dxf

   When in large canvas mode, I can't export a DXF. nowhere in the "known limitations" document does it mention this. I can export other regular canvas size documents as DXFs in the same session of illustrator.

10. Messed preview when opening multiple files

    Last file opened in Illustrator transforms the preview of all previous files to look like that last one I opened so I can not differentiate files because they all appear the same from tab to tab.

11. Switched to another application, Unable to Save on return

    I initiated a Save, making a New Folder, switched out of Illustrator to Chrome to get a job number to add to the folder name, switched back and was unable to type in the new folder window, or press the Cancel or Save buttons, or use keyboard! Clicking around I noticed I could select type in the input text field in a screen position that was NOT where the input field was. I moved the new folder modal to where I could select type and I was then able to press the buttons! I must have moved the modal either before switching out of Illustrator, or when coming back. But Illustrator only new where the modal was before moving it.

12. Files from Illustrator 9.x lose all layer names when loaded.

    Today I was looking through some old files and discovered that things I drew when Illustrator 9 was the new hotness lose their layer names when loaded; everything is just named "<Layer>".

    Observed on several versions from CC2018 (22.x, the oldest one on my computer that I can still run - maybe it's time to delete those older versions I still have kicking around) to 2020 (24.2.3).

    I've attached a file that displays this behavior. Ignore the request for a linked file that I didn't include, it's just a scan of a rough sketch.

13. Illustrator's "Open..." dialogue box's File Format type dropdown Locks program

    1. System info: Windows 10 Pro v1903 Illustrator 2020 v24.2.3
    2. Launched the program, from the home screen, I went to File>Open... When the Dialogue box for opening a file popped up, I went to the filetype selector to the right of the file name field, and clicking the dropdown arrow causes the program to lock up.
    3. I expected a dropdown to allow me to filter visible by file types.
    4. I had to force quit the application.

14. Save for Web broken in v24.2.x

    Windows 10 x64 v1909.

    In previous versions of Illustrator (up to v23.1), Save to Web would work correctly even when a file had multiple artboards. However in v 24x; the Save for Web is adding additional pixels around the image even when the artboard selected does not have additional space.

    I have attached two screengrabs of the same file, one using AI2019 (correct)_ and the other using AI2020. In both cases the identical artboard is selected and same settings applied.

    Further, if the 'crop to artboard' option is checked, then an additional line of transparent pixels appears in the outputted PNG which is not there in the original artwork. Again two example screengrabs are attached to demonstrate this, along with the PNG files generated from the different Illustrator versions.

15. Hanging on "Unembed"

    When trying to "unembed" an image in an AI file, it is very common for the software to completely stall when attempting to navigate to a save location. I have already run this problem through Apple (re:finder) and they claim that it is not a finder issue, but based in the selected software. Upon force quit and relaunch, the process will succeed. As a graphics professional, I have used this command many times daily, for 20 years, and have never experienced an issue until now. Honestly, I have no idea and cannot find any resources to reference.

16. Saving of files DISCARDED in certain conditions

    When I'm in the midlle of saving a file, (so while I get the progress percents next to the name of the file) if I press CTRL + SHIFT + S, it DISCARDS the saving of the .ai, no warning message as it previously did (something along the lines "The document "***" is currently getting saved. Try again after the process is complete") and proceeds with exporting the PDF, leaving me with an old version of the .ai file, and with a PDF that it's up to date.

17. Asset Library Export stopped working with batch exporting

    From today for some reason batch exporting icons does not work in the Asset Export. I have a set of 150 icons that I use, and only change the color combinations as required. It always worked flawlessly. From today, When I click export, it seems to work, but no icons get exported when all are chosen. If I manually check a few at a time it works, but if I choose All Assets, it wont work anymore. Tried rebooting and clearing the cache.

18. illustrator very slow to export to PDF (all versions including latest)

    I recently built a new computer as my laptop was taking too long to make PDFs, the new computer should be 2-4 times quicker but actually takes longer to make the PDF from exactly the same file.

    The old computer is a 2017 MacBook Pro:
    Mojave 10.14.6
    i7 2.8ghz 4 core
    16gb 2133mhz LPDDR3 Ram
    Radeon Pro 560 4GB GDDR5 GPU
    512GB SSD

    New computer is a Windows 10 Pro (fully updated)
    Ryzen 9 3950x 16 core 3.5Ghz
    64gb 3200Mhz DDR4 Ram
    Nvidia 2080 Super 8gb GDDR6 GPU
    2tb M.2 gen4 drive

    The same file will pdf on the Mac in 1min 12 second. and 1 min 42 seconds on the PC. while writing the pdf on the PC, illustrator becomes 'not responding' and only un freezes once the pdf is written, in that time none of the resources are being used more than 10% so there is plenty of capacity for illustrator to be faster.

    The system is fully up to date and has been tested to ensure all hardware is functioning as it should, in benchmark tests the PC is 2-4 times quicker than the mac.

    I've spoken with Adobe help who have taken remote control of the PC on 3 occasions, they have tried everything but not made any difference. the last representative could only suggest that there was an efficiency problem with some of my hardware not working correctly with Illustrator, but could not say what. It has been tested on all versions of illustrator back to 2019.

    My GPU is on the list of recognised and supported devices, all drivers have been optimised for workstation/adobe use. but if there are issues that relate to hardware Adobe need to publish it so people can ensure their hardware will actually work. because currently i have a £3000 paperweight. This is a workstation computer which i earn a living from.

    All other non Adobe programs and games function as they should with no lag or delay, the issue is most defiantly software related and none of your representatives have been able to help. sort it out!

19. Export As SVG does not work. Leaves no File,

    24.2.1, Windows 10
    File >Export As [SVG, use artboards]
    Expected to see the file when I exported, did not, repeated 3X,
    No file was saved to directory.

    I then opened Illustrator 2019 which is still installed, and it worked as normal.
    Export As SVG is the most used feature in illustrator for me, and this bug renders it useless. No file gets exported.
    Bug did not occur on same Illustrator version for Mac.

    i have been unable to save my files properly since yesterday when i worked on a project thats has images, first i got a messages on illustrator that auto save wont work because the file im working on is large then when i tried to export my project for screen, instead of saving just as png, it saved as png.tmp$$ and just add to rename before i can get my file and also when i saved my files it keep saving as a temp file since then, have to rename the files saved and include .ai to get the file, really stressful, i reset my preference and closed my illustrator for long time, open it later and created a new file and saved and still got a temp file saved. you can check the attached files to see how the files where saved. need a quick fix, thank you
