Illustrator 2021
I have a 2015 macbook pro Catalina OS ver 10.15.7, 8 Gb 1867 MHz DDR3 with over 100 Gb free and an intel iris Graphics 6100 1536 graphics card
This computer was powerful enough to run the previous version of illustrator. However, with the new version (2021) there has been a significant slowdown to the point where even copy pasting a simple design takes a minute to do. It is slow and the lag is insufferable. Is there anyway down grading can become available or an option? Or is there something I can do to improve the performance of illustrator…2 votes -

MacOX Big Sur Laggy
I've noticed two issues with Illustrator 2021 running on macOS Big Sur.
The performance is laggy when I try to move an image around. I hold the image and drag it. The image stops moving, then skips.
Second, when I option hold an image to duplicate it, it sometimes doesn't work and drags the original image instead. I've noticed that I cannot drag the duplicate a certain distance from the original image.

Using pen tool, panning, navigating layers is laggy
Very frustrating. Just simple task like tracing sketches with the pen tool, panning with the spacebar or swiping from layer to layers causes the program to freeze. I see the pinwheel more then I see the mouse.

The new version is terribly slow
The new ver is very slow. Its taking too long to move objects in a fie, which is pretty heavy 200MB

You cant work in the program because its doesnt respond to the commands, it even doesnt allow you to close Ilustrator

LOST DATA
I lost my all work from last 10 days.
What should I do now?
All data was very important and I created by working hard days and nights. This is 3rd time happening with me from last year. I saved my work but still it is not listed there in recent works.
Sudden error and not able to save my data sometimes. I paying for the software and I am suffering from such serious issue. Have any solution2 votes -
Closing documents makes Illustrator 2020 to hang (24.3)
On Windows 10 (v 1909) when closing a document (previously saved, or opened without any change, or a new empty document) Illustrator hangs and is unresponsive for 5-20 sec.
This is happening after update.
Photoshop had the same problem, but the hanging time reduced after the newest updates.2 votes -
Illustrator (24.3) Slow lagging, AI and EPS files issues, non responsive
macOS Mojave (10.14.6)
Working on large scale signage graphics - have completing almost exactly the same thing for previous jobs with no issue. 24AUG20 AI auto updated and instantly could not move graphics in file - constant spinning wheel and slow loading times.
Saving file was extremely slow - ceasing to save from 80-90% and then crashing (crash report sent). The only way to continue working was to save as EPS.
Also attempted saving graphic elements out as EPS files to place into INDD where EPS was pixilated (fully or partially). PDF exported from INDD unable to save correctly with…

Bring back CS5 image trace controls and results, PLEASE!!
Over the years, each update in Adobe Illustrator has resulted in poorer trace results for complex line work. I specifically keep an old Mac so I can run CS5 just to trace. Please bring back the advanced controls CS5 had so illustrators such as myself can use the updated version of Adobe Illustrator to trace hand sketched work. I've attached a sample to show you results from CS5 trace and the current Adobe Illustrator.

Hide artboards in trim view is not available

Creating Halftones Quality Has Decreased
I am beyond frustrated with what used to be a smooth, simple rendering process for creating halftones. I do what most do: create the shape with a black to white gradient > create setting under Color Halftone > Expand Appearance > Image Trace > Expand Appearance (again). Boom, done.

Move tool lags and I can't move my layers.
I don't have any ideas necessarily. Just want the features provided to work normally. I can't even use my move tool without the program lagging. Also, it's nearly impossible to organize my layers because Illustrator doesn't allow me to move them. It makes tasks that should take 1 second to do take 5 mins. Which makes it impossible to get anything done.

Crashing and not recovering when Windows 10 laptop awakes from sleep

Creative Cloud completely updated, including AIAny time I have an open file and leave the laptop for a few min, it seems to crash AI and will not recover any files, so I have to recreate files quite often.
