Move tool lags and I can't move my layers.
I don't have any ideas necessarily. Just want the features provided to work normally. I can't even use my move tool without the program lagging. Also, it's nearly impossible to organize my layers because Illustrator doesn't allow me to move them. It makes tasks that should take 1 second to do take 5 mins. Which makes it impossible to get anything done.

Update (v24,2) crashes Illustrator consistently, enough memory (RAM) and slow down when using eraser tool

Graphics GTX 1080Ti 11gbAfter the last update, Illustrator has consistently crashed. When I select Eraser tool the app perform a huge slow down. After some time working the illustrator starts to slow down and I need to relaunch. Some minor crashs occuir too.

Crashing and not recovering when Windows 10 laptop awakes from sleep

Creative Cloud completely updated, including AIAny time I have an open file and leave the laptop for a few min, it seems to crash AI and will not recover any files, so I have to recreate files quite often.

Illustrator crashes on Macbook Air Mojave
Illustrator crashes frequently - generally after 20 minutes of use. Most frequently when I'm using pen tool do draw qith bezier curves. First the background desktop goes black, then menu items dissappear, then it freezes and goes entirely black. 2015 Macbook Air on Mojave -

Actions don't work with function keys in Illustrator 2020
In CS6 the function keys worked fine to invoke actions. In Illustrator CC 2020 the function keys operate as Mac function keys but can't be used to invoke an action. For example, I have Shift + F3 programmed in AI to save a file as .PNG to the current disk. I know the action does what it should because when I double-click it in the Actions menu it works fine. When I press shift+F3, I get the multi-file window, which is the native Mac keyboard function for F3. It's as if the programmers forgot to override the Mac function keys…

Illustrator Freeze & Crashing
After updating my Macbook Air to version Mojave version 10.14.6 and Illustrator to version 24.1 I am unable to work in Illustrator for more than 5 minutes before it freezes and my screen turns black. I can not click on any tool either and dropdown boxes and windows disappear.

Freezing and crashing constantly - menu gets messed up first
Illustrator keeps freezing and frequently crashing. This is not a computer issue, it happened on my old computer and is still happening on my new Lenovo thinkpad. It happens the same way every time. First the menu bar gets corrupted (look at top menu photo attached). Then menus won't open. Then it crashes. Sometimes I can save first, but often not. I am losing a ton of work! Illustrator crashing (V24) when connected to Dell USB docking station
I'm having random Illustrator CC crashes when I try to open the program while my PC is connected to a docking station via USB. I was trying to open a downloaded file, so I thought that was the issue. Every time I would try to open AI it would stop responding, so I would shut it down. Once I unplugged from the docking station it would start to work normally again. So I'm not sure if AI not responding is related the USB or maybe a file.

Illustrator 2020 on 4K monitor
Has Illustrator been designed to work on 4K monitors with AMD GPUs? Because my experience is that it isn't; the performance is horrific. Same goes for InDesign and Bridge. Will this ever be addressed?

Constant Random Crashing
Adobe Illustrator CC 2020; A coworker and I are coming across the same issue where our Illustrator is consistently crashing almost every hour or so throughout the day, seemingly at random. It will happen when trying to select/move an object, when trying to save, when clicking on another window, when clicking on a dropdown, and even when the machine is just sitting here doing nothing on my lunch breaks, it's not a question of if it will crash, it's when.

illustrator version 24 vector file is too large
Windows 7 Pro - Adobe Illustrator 24.0.2 (2019)
Opening a 2.7 MB Adobe Illustrator 23 (2018) all vector file and saving it.
Expect file size to remain similar or the same
File size of the new version 24.0.2 results in 260 MB
The file is using Gaussian blur. I suspect it is this. The file attached is the 2.7 MB version 23 file.
2 votesThis happens most probably because of the enabled PDF-compatibility option on save, which makes Ai write a PDF copy into the file along with the native Ai format. It helps to other apps to place and use the artwork inside, but it also makes the live raster effects to get rasterized, and it leads to size bloating.
Untick the 'Create PDF Compatible File' option and the file size will stay at 1-3 MB.

Very small AI file but super slow - can't even pan.
I have floor plans that I exported from DWG to 2007 DXF. I then imported to AI to do graphic edits. I'm using AI 2020.
This was done a long time ago and the AI file has always been extremely slow but I've managed to work with it to the point it is now. But I'm getting super sick of how it can barely handle me panning across the artboards and now dashed lines won't show up as dashed lines either. Help!

Illustrator takes a few minutes to respond to switching a layer on and off even when I'm working in 640x480 pixels !!

Crashing every 10 minutes or less
Hello,
I am currently doing a piece of art on illustrator and it keeps crashing every 10 minutes or sometimes less. Something that should take me an hour or less is now taking me currently 3 hours and I'm not even half way through because it keeps crashing and it's frustrating that I pay so much for something and I can't even do what I want because it doesn't want to work or allow me to do work. It's even more frustrating having to stop and save every minute or so when this all can be prevented.

V24.0.1 on PC - Very slow and takes forever to save for a simple file
This is beyond usable. Trying to save a job and Illustrator is unresponsive and takes approx. 5min to save a simple file.
Tool use is very sluggish and when changing to the type tool, the program is unusable and greys out becoming unresponsive. Have opened in illustrator diagnostic mode and it just crashes when trying to exit.
Have turned off save in background and Optimize file open and save times on slow networks all to no avail.Trying to exit also takes forever and just greys out.

Can't save. Crashes constantly. Lose Transform controls randomly and have to restart.
2020 is awful. When it's not crashing, it's telling me it's crashed. Now it refuses to save my work and copying and pasting it's only picking up half what I copy. Awful, awful. I'm on a 2019 Macbook pro.

Illustrator input and tools unresponsive when switching between apps
Illustrator input and tools unresponsive when switching between apps. If you click on the stroke, you can't type in the input. Type highlight is grey, not blue showing that something is keeping the selection from being active.

Update link
After I updated the 2020 version of the apps, illustrator started to fail. When I modify a photoshop file it takes several minutes to update on illustrator and my computer stops working. It takes like 5 minutes to update the link so i can keep working, before this version the update was automatic.
