Illustrator CC crashes when I open it. Does not generate error report.
When I open a new Illustrator file it'll generate with a few solid black rectangles at random positions on the screen. After scrolling they go away. Then I will use Illustrator normally for about 5 minutes and then numerous pop up in numerous sizes then the program crashes and does not generate an error report.
I have tried uninstalling, reinstalling version 24.3 and 25 respectively.
I have tried deleting cache and resetting scratch disks.
I have delete the opm.db file, and cleared preferences.
I am using a desktop that has:
500 GB SSD (where all adobe programs are installed)

Zoom on drag, not after
Zooming involves pressing the command key and the space bar, and then clicking and dragging the mouse. The speed and duration of the drag is replicated in the zoom on screen. Or so it used to be.
All of a sudden now, when I click, instead it draws a box, the contents of which then fill my monitor — but only when I release it.
It used to zoom in on the mouse drag - but now it waits until I’ve completed the box. How do I toggle back to the previous settings?1 voteThe 'marquee' way of zooming is the way it worked before GPU rendering was introduced.
So it works only in GPU mode — check it you have enabled in View > GPU Preview.
Plus you should check if Animated Zoom option is enabled in Preferences > Performance section.

Illustrator 25 super slow save & crash on deleting FX
It's taking a long amount of time to save even a small file.
Everytime I try to delete an effect (so far any I have tried from the effects menu), the program crashes.
Illustrator lags/freezes between each operation.
Windows 10 Education

Lag on every move I make!!
Moving an object. Changing the tool. Changing a colour. Everything move I make in illustrator brings up the colour wheel of death. Just moved from CS6 to CC, worst move ever.

Very glitchy system. Fix the BUGS!
Since the last update it has been very glitchy. Courser is grabbing at incorrect points for the last 4 days. Makes it VERY difficult to execute work that needs completed.

Pixelated patterns appearing across top of screen
Since updating to Illustrator 2021 I get patterns of pixels appearing at the top of my screen and moving as the mouse moves. Not sure if anyone else has this, it doesn't happen in InDesign or Photoshop.

Some text is missing and creating a text box will cause lag and not work
Windows 10 Enterprise, Illustrator 2021 v 25.0
I open an existing file authored in older versions of Illustrator. My annotations (circles with number text boxes) have no text boxes, and my text is missing in other places. But most text remains.
I can open a new file in v 25.0 and click text tool to add text. I can't type anything. I can try to click and drag to create a text box and it lags for minutes and does not allow me to type anything. If I try it lags again.1 vote -
Just update to Catalina 10.15.7 and having lots of issues with Illustrator.
Just updated to Catalina 10.15.7 and having lots of issues with Illustrator. Initially it wouldn't open. Rebooted and it opened after several attempts. Now can't save a file, it just hangs at the 'Writing illustrator EPS format...' First only got to 3%, now 100% and can't get past that.

My entire screen goes black when I try to open Illustrator 2021
I have a Mac, Catalina, Version 10.15.7 (19H2)
My touch toolbar stays lit up and I can tell Illustrator is opened based on the toolbar options, but nothing displays on normal screen. Screen returns after I Quit with CMD + Q.

Problem with new version (layer 'non-editable illustration) Illustrator 2021
I was working with the new version but suddenly appeard a layer named 'non-editable illustration' a the program crashed. Is the second time that happened.

my mouse doesnt work only while i use AI
Last time I was online my mouse cursor stopped working.
Today it is still doing the same. It works everywhere else but not in AI.

Display Issue ?
Having very odd display issues, (see attached files) basically I draw a curved shape in outline, this views correctly, then view it in overprint mode, this views correctly, view it in standard mode and it is awful, I've tried restart/making a new document etc etc, still views awful ????
please advise..... don't ask me to work in overprint preview as one of my others posts states, that is ridiculously slow.

Static (not file related)
I am on a Windows 10, hp. I am not sure what is going on with my Illustrator. I've been using it pretty regularly. Recently it crashed. When I reopened it, there is now some kind of static at the top of the document. It doesn't matter what type of file is open. I have tried opening different Ai files or creating new ones and the static is still there. I have also tried uninstalling/reinstalling/updating etc. Nothing has helped. Every time I move the view or click around, the static moves. I can still work, but it's extremely distracting and…

performance
My illustrator is beginning to slow down. My computer seems fine although illustrator does not act as it did a few days ago. My computer is relatively brand new PC and i have update it now. Can i get some help?

Font linking not working, basic functionality of Illustrator is impaired
1) Image describes it all. Nobody asked for Adobe Fonts, but if you have to do it please pull it off correctly. If it can't synchronize with mainstream operating systems like Windows 10, then what is the point? Professionals that have to use your software have no spare time to write obvious feedback like this.
2) I am working in a team that is dependent on a shared Illustrator asset library. It is not updating consistently and it makes life hard for a lot of people that are trying to do their work.

Layer access arrows missing
the arrows that you click on to access the layers are gone. there is no clickable link, or visible arrow anymore.
I have restarted both program and computer, then uninstalled and reinstalled. It is still not working.

object distortion on perspective grid after pathfinder unite
Windows 10 home, Illustrator 2020.
After uniting two or more rectangles on the perspective grid to make a more complex shape, moving/copying the new object using the perspective selection tool results in distortion as the object appears to have become detached from it's perspective plane. The behaviour is shown in the attached image.
Inserting the step Object > Perspective > Attach to active directly after Unite allows the object to move correctly (thanks Monika Gause) although it was suggested that perhaps this step shouldn't be necessary and it should be able to move correctly without it.
