This issues is no longer reproducible, tested this on 26.1. Closing this issue, please add your comment if you still see this issue.
An error occurred while saving the comment Rob Hutchings commentedJust checking to see if any progress has been made on this and it seems it affects MacOS as well:

An error occurred while saving the comment Rob Hutchings commentedSame here.
Example: Draw a circle, take the text tool, type a number, align both centrally and to the bottom of each other, now group together. Take the text tool and write some text to go next to the circle. Group this to the 1st group, now isolate the group, select all and (try to) choose the first group as the key object.
Normal behaviour should outline the 1st group to indicate it is the Key Object but the selection cannot be made. Incidentally, while in the isolation mode you can select the secondary text as your Key Object.
An interim workaround is to make the selection using the direct select tool (white arrow) and switch to the selection tool (black arrow) in order to choose the Key Object and then align - this won't work if you are using the centre of the group as the basis of your alignment.

Since this is not a generic issue that we can reproduce at our end, we will need someone to look into your machine to figure out what is going on here.An error occurred while saving the comment Rob Hutchings commentedWhen I start Illustrator, smart guides state they are enabled with the option ticked but they're not working. If select the option again it remains ticked but starts working.

Background:
- CC libraries does not have support for Global Process Colors
- Some users have spoken about InDesign – InDesign does not support Global Process colors
- Illustrator does support process colors , global process colors and spot colors. The issue is specefic to global process colors – since it is not supported in CC Libraries. We have added the request to support in CC libraries backlog,
Workaround:
- Create Process colors in Illustrator and add it to CC libraries – deselect the global checkbox

An error occurred while saving the comment Rob Hutchings commentedSimple implementation - using the artboard tool, select an artboard, either context click on the label or just edit > copy to bring the artboard name, size and contents into the buffer, navigate to another document and paste. Simples! Now make it so ....

Changing to alternative resolutions now works, also Illustrator now remembers the previous setting used between sessions. Thank you!
