Yes, the Recolor dialog does not have its own undo stack, and all changes are permanent. Since Recolor is often used as an experimentation tool, this behavior limits the freedom and forces users to avoid it and loose applied settings.
The team is now aware of the situation and hopefully some changes will be made.

I am happy to share that we have fixed this bug in our latest release – 23.0.6 which is available worldwide now.
Going forward, our goal is to fix as many top User-Voice bugs as possible and as frequently as possible. Given the nature of the fixes, some of the bugs will take a longer time to fix, but we are on it.
You can update to the latest release using Creative Cloud desktop App: https://helpx.adobe.com/in/creative-cloud/help/creative-cloud-updates.html
Thank you for all the feedback. Keep it coming!

If connected to our company VPN, doing anything in Illustrator is very slow and keeps crashing Illustrator. This is when doing anything on the local drive, not the VPN, just connected to it. Quitting the VPN then makes Illustrator work like normal. We have 3-4 different Macs that have the same problem. Running Mojave and Illustrator 23.0.3.

An error occurred while saving the comment Steve Edwards commentedSpeaking to our in-house developer, he suggested having a feature where if you don't use certain functionality, you can turn it off. Hopefully this would make the software run quicker.

An error occurred while saving the comment Steve Edwards commentedThis is definitely still a problem. If we double click a file without Illustrator open, none of the panels on the right appear even though they're ticked in the Window menu. You can't get them back without reloading Illustrator and then if you do the same (so double click a file to open it) it works. If you open Illustrator on it's own, it just works all the time.
As I've already mentioned, it's doing it on more than one Mac on the very latest version of Illustrator. Please help as it's really annoying!
An error occurred while saving the comment Steve Edwards commentedWe're still having this issue even on 23.0.2. It's happening on multiple Macs so it can't be a preferences issue.

The solution is pushed into Global Availability build 28.6.
The Previewed Page is now the default option for the dialog.
Here is an updated Help article:https://helpx.adobe.com/illustrator/using/importing-pdf-files.html
Congratulations, folks! Took us 5.5 years to get it!
An error occurred while saving the comment Steve Edwards commentedAdobe claim to have resolved the issue but it really doesn't work. You should be able to preview a page and it update the actual page it's going to open. I'm forever having to open the file twice because I keep forgetting that a feature that used to work is now (in my opinion) broken!
Steve Edwards supported this idea ·An error occurred while saving the comment Steve Edwards commentedI find this really annoying. Opening a PDF and choosing the page you want in the preview doesn't change the page range like it used to. You then click to open what you think is the right page and it only opens the first page as that's what's in the page range. It would be really useful to have the page range default to the page that you're currently viewing in the preview unless you specifically type in a page in the range box.

An error occurred while saving the comment Steve Edwards commentedDo you have GPU Preview turned on? In my experience, that does odd things with paths in Illustrator. I'm out of ideas otherwise.
An error occurred while saving the comment Steve Edwards commentedDoes the type have a stroke applied to it? If so, it will only subtract the path from the red object and ignore the stroke. If that is the case, you'll need to outline the stroke and then unite the objects then subtract it from the red circle.

Adobe Illustrator's Multithreading Journey Begins!
Dear Illustrator Community,
I'm thrilled to announce that we've embarked on an exciting journey to bring multithreading capabilities to Adobe Illustrator. This significant undertaking will enhance performance and responsiveness across various aspects of the application.
While this is a complex process that will take some time to fully implement, I wanted to share our progress so far.
Our Approach
We've strategically begun by focusing on the most computationally intensive operations—those that typically take more time and block the main thread, resulting in slower response times while you work. By moving these operations to separate threads, we aim to significantly improve your overall experience with Illustrator.
It's important to note that you may see more noticeable impact in some areas than others initially. However, we want to assure you that this is just the beginning, and we will continue this journey to bring improvements across…

Hi Everyone,
We have improved the working experience of Free Distort tool. Now the bounding box will not reset! This functionality now is available in our latest release build – 24.1.1 for Win and 24.1 for Mac which is available worldwide now.
What’s new in 24.1: https://helpx.adobe.com/illustrator/using/whats-new.html
You can update to the latest release using Creative Cloud desktop App: https://helpx.adobe.com/in/creative-cloud/help/creative-cloud-updates.html
Thank you for all the feedback
An error occurred while saving the comment Steve Edwards commentedThis tool really should work the same way as in Photoshop. Having the bounding box reset to an outer rectangle every time you drag a handle makes it completely useless!

Adobe. Make It an Experience. An error occurred while saving the comment Steve Edwards commentedJust found the issue today and it is very annoying. You have to draw roughly what you want then reset the angle in the Gradient panel. Really not ideal and we're convinced it worked fine in CC2018.

An error occurred while saving the comment Steve Edwards commentedI was also using the beta version without this issue and on the release build still don't get this issue. We only have 1 Mac in the studio that we get this error on which is exactly the same spec as mine.
An error occurred while saving the comment Steve Edwards commentedGot the same problem on one of our Macs (2013 MacBook Pro 13-inch, 2.8GHz i7,, 16GB 1600MHz DDR3, Iris 1536MB running 10.13.6). Got 3 other Macs running Illustrator and haven't had the same issue on those yet.

In answer to Ritika's questions:
Were you connected to any network printer?
No, just connected to the VPN. Not doing anything across it.
How were you connected to the internet? WIFI or through LAN
WiFi
On which operating system are you facing this slowness issue?(WIN or MAC)
MacOS 10.14.5
Version of Illustrator you are working on?
23.0.4
I can't understand why it goes slow when connected to VPN. Is Illustrator constantly connecting for some reason. I've also noticed it runs slowly not on VPN sometimes. Everyone in the office complains of the same thing. It'll go slow for half an hour randomly and then work normally again. It's like it's connecting to something.
Does Illustrator have anything that needs an active internet connection to work? None of the other CC applications seem to have this issue - just Illustrator.
