    Currently using Illustrator v24.3

Issue is the selection tools won't move objects by clicking and dragging. They can still:
    - Highlight and select objects
    - Selected objects can be moved by clicking their center point
    - Selected objects WILL move when using the arrow keys
    - The bounding box can be scaled and rotated without issue
    - Individual anchors CAN be moved by the Direct Selection Tool
    - Multiple selected anchors CANNOT.

Object Selection by Path Only is not turned on, and I've hit the escape key a bunch to be sure that some hidden prompt isn't interfering with anything.

The only solution I've found is to quit out of the program and restart it.

    Hello all,

This functionality is now available in all the public builds starting V29.0.

To use this functionality, simply select colors from your swatches panel and click on 'create gradient' in the swatch panel options.

Please try out this feature and let us know what you think!

I also encounter this issue regularly and it makes deciding to use clipping masks a fraught prospect. I've masked off an object, then tell it and it's clipping mask to merge. The expected result is that the the mask should crop out the invisible elements and break down whatever is inside it, creating a final merged result that is identical to what was visible in the mask.

In my business's work flow we engrave designs into granite. Unlike print images our designs have a hard limit our artwork cannot go below. This includes the minimum height and width of a given path, as well as the space between objects. There's a script file available on the net that can accomplish something roughly equivalent to this but it's not supported and every new version of Illustrator threatens to break it.

A feature like this in illustrator where object scale and spacing could be a selection attribute would be very helpful!

    Hi Everyone,

All the effect checkboxes have now been set to ON by default, and are sticky (meaning that if you disable preview, on next launch of Illustrator preview will remain disabled). This functionality now is available in our latest release build – 24.1.1 for Win and 24.1 for Mac which is available worldwide now.

You can update to the latest release using Creative Cloud desktop App: https://helpx.adobe.com/in/creative-cloud/help/creative-cloud-updates.html

Thank you for all the feedback.

The latest Illustrator release - v29.3 now offers 'Preview Missing Fonts' functionality to improve your experience when working with files that contain unavailable fonts.

If you open a file with missing fonts, Illustrator will now render the text correctly in Preview Mode on the artboard, even if the fonts are not installed on your system. This ensures the files appear as intended without requiring immediate font installation.

For more details and help, please see this article: https://helpx.adobe.com/in/illustrator/using/find-missing-fonts.html
