  1. Is there a way to change the state of the page information line when exporting from Illustrator to a PDF?

Is there a way to change the state of the page information line when exporting from Illustrator to a PDF.
We need it closer to the bleed box (or right on it) and much further to the left.
We need it closer to the bleed frame (or right on it) and much further to the left.
I can't find anything in Illustrator's settings (of course). This will probably be defined in some file. I would like to edit this file with an editor to adapt it to our needs. Or is that perhaps possible via a script?

    The background is…

  2. Can we please move the "Close all" button away from the "Save" button in the "FILE" dropdown menu

Maybe move the "Close" and "Close all" buttons to the bottom of the "FILE" dropdown menu, instead of having them sit so close to the "Save" and "Save as" buttons.

I have accidently closed various projects because of this.

  3. "Duplicate artboard" command should have option to create duplicate artwork on its own layer, not double all the assets in the file structur

Currently when user chooses "Duplicate artboard" command, all of the assets on all layers and sub-layers get duplicated where they are within that layer hierarchy. To make for better asset organization, "Duplicate artboard" should have an option to create a new layer and put all of the duplicated assets in the same layer/sub-layer hierarchy there so then both sets of assets are independent in the layers window.

should have option to create duplicate artwork on its own layer.

  4. Print option to select which artboard(s) to rotate

I have an illustrator file open with 2 artboards in it. I am trying to print them both on 1 page (double sided). I can do that, however, I am having problems with one side of the page being upside down. Is there a way to fix this; other than manually flipping one of the artboards 180 degrees prior to printing?

My thought would be to have a feature in Illustrator (& other Adobe programs) in the print dialog box under the orientation section. Utilizing the auto-rotate checkbox, if you uncheck it you could have an option to select which…

  5. Search filed is focused by itself

Every time I go back into Illustrator, the current version, my cursor automatically appears in the search area in the upper right hand corner. This was never the case in the past. This is problematic because, when I go back into Illustrator, I may want to select a tool or paste an object and unless I click on the artboard first, it pastes into the search window. Just one more simple glitchy thing that SLOWS DOWN WORKFLOW!

  6. Adding strokes to images easier

On either links or embedded image files, it would be super helpful to be able to add a stroke to it instead of the messy workaround of drawing one or adding multiple, RAM-hogging glow effects with no blur to the get that effect.

  7. Menu TYPE no Illustrator

  8. Streamline the Fresco To Illustrator Export Process

Like many I use Illustrator for its Vector properties in order to animate within After Effects, with the agility to scale up assets infinitely when clients change their minds about shots & movements.

iPads Adobe Draw, meant my assets could become so much more detailed. Which was great! While the push to desktop feature was glitchy for me at best it still mostly resulted with having a neat AI file version of the Draw one. That I could Import into AE with ease. Update with ease. etc.

It's also useful that I can bring in AI assets to PS as…

  9. Make artboards searchable in finder

Make artboards searchable in finder. If I would like to search for a specific Page/artboard.

    Example:
Search: Order3 = file: Order2019 will appear in finder as that artboard named Order_3 are located in that file.

    File Name: Order2019
    Artboards:
    Order
    1
    Order2
    Order
    3
    Order4
    Order
    5
    Order_6

  10. allow the editing/removal of the "Touch Calligraphic Brush"

    Concise problem statement:

An uneditable, undeletable “Touch Calligraphic Brush” appears at the top of the Brush palette for every single document, including ones that predate touch devices. On my Macbook Air, which is not a touch device, with files that have never been loaded on a touch device.

    Steps to reproduce bug:

    1. Start Illustrator on a computer with no touchscreen.
    2. Load a file or create a new one.
    3. Try to edit the “Touch Calligraphic Brush”.
    4. Try to delete the “Touch Calligraphic Brush”.

    Results:

The Touch Calligraphic Brush stays there at the top of your brushes palette. It refuses to move.…

  11. Tracing with machine learning, Sensei, or something similar

My question is: Is there is any program or chance that the illustrator trace will use less points and be more accurate?
I love using the illustrator and I love tracing pictures with hand, but sometimes I just don't have the time or the energy to do it manually and the available trace solution is just not 10/10 for die cut lines and sometimes logo recreations (when the customer can send only a 100x100 pixel file, because of reasons).
If there was a chance you made something that would check, analyse, and learn from my (and other volunteers') manual tracings…

  12. Share and Review for Illustrator (email notification designation)

    Hi Adobe team,

I Co-own and Creative Direct at a small design agency of about 12 people. Myself and my design team are loving the Share and Review feature as it is saving us so much time in our presentation prep on client work. There is one thing though that would make our lives even better (and the life of our project manager). We would love for there to be a feature where you can designate where the notification emails go to when comments are made. Currently it goes to the person who generated the link (usually a designer), or…

  13. registerKeyEventsInterest fundamentally broken in modern Illustrator (silent failure)

I am reporting a critical issue with the registerKeyEventsInterest API. In modern versions of Illustrator, this function is completely broken for global keystroke interception. Worse, it fails silently with no errors or feedback in the CEF console.

According to the CEP documentation, we should be able to pass a JSON string to this API to catch key events and stop the host app from swallowing them. But right now, calling csInterface.registerKeyEventsInterest() with a standard JSON payload does absolutely nothing.

If you set up a basic CEP panel, include CSInterface.js, and try to register interest in a global keystroke, the code…

  14. Create a ISE file system for Gradient management (ASE for AI only)

create the possibility to export gradients as lib !

I understand why ASE does not work with gradients (while it could be the case if ASE would accept more than one value per swatch but whatever..)

I'd be nice to create ISE fileformat for example (ASE for AI only) to be able to have an actual gradient lib file.

    bluegradients.ISE
    Redgradients.ISE
    Etc

The state of gradient management feels very much not polished from the adobe side of things, so please, work on that ...

and have a look at Astute gradient forge

  15. .DXF compound shape support

Illustrator doesn't seem to support exporting compound shapes in a .DXF file. Corel does so it must be possible. This lack of support means that you cannot have text in a DXF file.

  16. Use Typographer's Quotes should be more accessible

"Use Typographer's Quotes" should be added to the Character palette to make it more easily accessible. Sometimes I'm designing a document that uses typographer's quotes, but most of the time I work with documents that reference dimensions in feet and inches, so I need to be able to switch back and forth between typographer's quotes and straight quotes quickly.

In addition to that, "Use Typographer's Quotes" should be moved from File > Document Setup to Illustrator > Settings > Type to match the way Photoshop and InDesign do it.

The Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign teams (and probably others, but those…

  17. Recovery Improvement

The cancel button should not instantly close the file. The reason why is I'm so used to pressing cancel to get out of an option that I don't want without it closing the file. Because of this, I have been conditioned to think that if I press cancel then I will still be able to work on the file. This goes for all Recovery options on all the programs. It would also be nice to have access to said recovery file longer rather than it being completely lost after pressing cancel.

  18. Add CSS color styling option to OpenType-SVG specification, so font colors may be altered in Illustrator

Currently, OpenType-SVG color fonts come with pre-defined colors.

To provide glyphs in different shades, additional stylistic sets need to be added to the font, bloating it tremendously.

I propose to add the ability to OpenType-SVG to have certain colors of a glyph being overwritten by the application (e.g. Illustrator), so text colors can be applied to a range of glyphs just like it's done with standard monochrome glyphs.

To do so, OpenType-SVG should be able to export a set of color reference names, referenced within the glyph's SVG. An application may then assign alternate colors to those color references, so…

  19. Allow customized names for exported artboards

Allow me to customize the name of artboards that are exported or saved as.

OR, change the automatic naming to include the artboard number at the front of the file name so they will be in the same order as they are in the document when sorted alphabetically.

Here is how I would use this feature:

We use Illustrator to create client presentations. Artboards are named according to their content. Often saving/exporting as a PDF from Ai results in a file that's too large to email.

So I export each artboard as a PNG. The naming convention for these files

  20. PLEASE add back in the ability to copy simple shapes that contain gradients from Illustrator to InDesign.

Copying simple shapes with simple gradients (not even complex gradient mesh) from Illustrator to InDesign has been a feature for as long as I've been using Adobe products and now, suddenly, in the 2026 versions, it's gone. Every time I try I get the error dialog attached. This is the most basic of functions and I don't understand why it's gone. I just got off the phone with Adobe Support who said "it's no longer supported". What? Why? Their solution was to save Illustrator objects as files and import/place them into InDesign, but that's not an ideal solution as those…
