Export as SVG does not properly respect letter-spacing style on text
When saving as SVG, the exporter temperamentally interprets letter-spacing as either 0 (no style exported) or "1". E.g. within Illustrator I might set letter-spacing to 185, this would be exported as just "1" without a unit. Furthermore, if I open the file again, Illustrator interprets this as "90", and if I save again, the exporter exports without any letter-spacing.

Illustrator no deja guardar los archivos a la primera
Al guardar un archivo en otro formato, la opción queda bloqueada. Tengo que cerrar la ventana y volver a guardar y ahí se activa la opción de guardar en otro formato.

Variable font support for SVG Export
Adobe Illustrator now supports variable font files where all the font style variants are incorporating into a single OpenType file.
When exporting a text element in an illustrator file if using a font collection (such as Helvetica) where there are individual font files for different font weights, (thin, regular, medium, bold, ....) the text element is exported as:
<text class="cls-12" transform="translate(121.64811 386.60663)"><tspan class="cls-13">A</tspan><tspan x="75.51965" y="0">p</tspan><tspan class="cls-14" x="146.07617" y="0">p</tspan><tspan class="cls-15" x="213.65833" y="0">. 18 t/m 21</tspan></text>
which means the text can be modified in the SVG.

Can't place tiff file into Illustrator as a linked file
In previous versions I could import tiff as linked files, now, when I try to do so, it shows the attached image.
I have to open the tiff on illustrator and then copy and paste the content into my file, but is an embedded file, I want it as a link...

Saving file issues
I am trying to save another file and I get this . The file is not opened by anyone other than myself, also, the folder name is the same and the file is not read only. I keep having this issue constantly!

How to stop .tmp$$$ when export .png file on Illustrator from Avast Anti-virus
The cause of this annoying problem came from the ransomware shield function from Avast. This is an easy method to solve this problem.
- Go to Avast Antivirus user interface.
- Select the protection tab.
- Select ransomware shied.
- Protected folder by Avast Ransomware shield will appear.
- Click the checkbox of the protected file location that you choose to export which shown for protection.(C:\USER...\Pictures etc.)
- When you select, the message of the selected folder and "Stop Protection" button will appear.
- Click stop protection.

Background Save works but it thinks it's not working! v25.2.1
I'm having an issue described in an older bug report (https://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/601447-illustrator-desktop-bugs/suggestions/39029392-background-save-works-but-it-thinks-it-s-not-worki): open files stay marked as having unsaved changes when they are saved.
This is reportedly fixed in v25 but I'm on 25.2.1 and have this exact same problem. Not with every file and not every time, but it happens.

Mac Os Big Sur
Keep getting "An unknown error has occurred" when saving Illustrator file. THis is costing us time and money now as every-time we create a new file the start working it decides all of a sudden we cant save our work.

Lost file even though the Automatic Save Recovery is on
Windows 10. 64 bit.
Illustratoir 25.2.0The PC crashed in the middle of working. And the file disappeared. I can see a link to the file in the Recent documents of Windows Explorer, and in Recuva.
But no file found.What's happening? How can I find the missing file?

File cannot be saved as png
Windows 10 Pro version 1909. Illustrator v 25.2.1.
I am trying to export a file as a .png. It is very large (15000 px x 9000 px at 300 dpi), and it comes up with this error every time: The operation cannot complete because of an unknown error. [!now].
I have also tried exporting the image as a much smaller file with the same error. The file I'm trying to export is a floral pattern I've created using the pattern tool.

No me permite guardar el archivo como pdf o imagen solo guarda como Ai
Al momento de querer guardar cualquier archivo en cualquier formato solo se forma un documento sin temporal .tmp ya he intentado generar un archivo nuevo y guardarlo desde ese y tampoco ha funcionado la versión que manejo es Adobe Illustrator 2021 25.0.1 simultaneamente tengo la versión 2018 y no me da problemas

Unwanted bounding box
I'm working on a
MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2015)
Processor 2,2 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7
Memory 16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
Graphics Intel Iris Pro 1536 MBTwo bounding boxes appear in my .ai file they wouldn't have bothered me if it weren't for the fact that they distort the design on export.

SVG Import damaged
Windows 10 latest, Illustrator 25.2
Importing a Svg vector city map, the street names are not rendered any more. The file works perfect in Inkscape and any Browser, but since some versions of Illustrator they are gone. Installing the latest available 24.3 version, the problem persists.
Is there a download option for older versions since 24.3, since some versions before it worked over years.

Illustrator reverts back to Style Elements instead of Presentation Attributes for svg
BUG:
Steps to reproduce:
- Open an SVG file.
- Save as; in the dialogue for CSS Properties select <Presentation Attributes>
- Continue working on the file, specifically by changing the art board size and other resizing activities.
- Save the file
Expected:
I expect that opening the file in a text editor will show that presentation attributes are used, such as fill=noneActual behaviour:

Latest Version just quits on its own
Luckily I was in front of my computer as it happened so I could save the current files that were open but without needing an update to Illustrator or the OS, the app suddenly just started a quit sequence on its own.

"Save" action aborted by a subsequent "Save as" action
I'm using Version 25.0 on a Mac with Catalina OS (10.15.7). In all past versions of Illustrator, once you had initiated a "Save", nothing could interrupt that. Now, saves are both slower and interruptible. If I try to "Save" my .AI file, then do my "Save as low-res PDF" action to export a version for clients, the "Save as low-res PDF" action will cancel the "Save" if it's not yet complete. And there is no indication that this has happened. This means my AI file will revert to the old version without my knowledge, while the low-res PDF will be…

Cannot open any .ai file
Windows 10 64-bit (latest update) and Illustrator v 25.1
Opening a file from Explorer and with [File] > [Open...], yet the Illustrator application does not react. I also cannot open files that are stored in the cloud. There is no error, the app is just not responding, yet not crashing.Update: The issue is not with the files that I'm trying to open. They aren't corrupt or anything. I cannot even create a new project file. Templates wont load either. The hands-on tutorial do not start, too.

I can't save my AI document on my desktop - Illustrator V.25 (italian language)
Hi, I need your Help. I cannot save my document on my desktop. Everytime I try to save a document, a pop up window appears. I attach a scrrenshot of that message. I tried to use command Save, Save as, Save as previuos version, Export in svg, eps ... I tried everything I can, but the message is always the same I attached. I can only save a Cloud Document, but this is no good for me. Can you help me?

Files save backwards
Saving files (even new ones) is not functioning correctly. I will save a document only to next make a PDF for client review and go back to make changes and either nothing is there or the file is saved as a previous revision, not the one I saved as. Very harmful for my work environment. This is a MAJOR issue, not a minor bug.
