High Sierra (macOS 10.13) GPU rendering issues with RGB document - Intel Graphics
Illustrator 21.1.0 has issues with GPU rendering in the latest High Sierra public betas:
Paths will appear jagged and generally do not display correctly.
Altering the zoom level affects these artefacts.
Switching off GPU rendering altogether fixes the issue but this way, performance is obviously affected.
Additional Note: Works correctly in CMYK document.
the issue has been resolved by Appple in macOSX 10.13.4
Please upgrade to resolve the issue

The strokes become all choppy when moving around the screen or zooming and out. It's updated to the lastest version and the laptop has been restarted. What should I do?
I attached the image below of a closeup.

Very, very frustrating. I noticed that when the document color mode is set on CMYK, the bug disappears. But then we have less colors to work with.

It'd be great if the Adobe Engineers working with Apple could also address the issue in High Sierra affecting all GPU accelerated graphics/tasks in Adobe apps running on 2016/2017 MacBook Pros with Radeon Pro GPUs, where after the MBP has been asleep long enough to enter standby mode (about 30 minutes usually), GPU performance is severely impacted (more than a 60% drop in performance in my testing) until the next restart.
This performance impact affects all GPU accelerated tasks in Photoshop, Illustrator, etc - anything that uses Metal, OpenGL, OpenCL - and started in High Sierra. It affects all models of the Radeon Pro GPUs in 2016/2017 MacBook Pros, and is still present in the latest beta (macOS 10.13.2 beta 2).
While I've submitted this to Apple as radar 34677832, it would be helpful if the Adobe team could investigate this issue with Apple as it's making all Adobe apps perform incredibly badly after sleep, requiring regular restarts just to get back to normal performance.

on the other hand I can't turn off GPU ( as solution for this problem )on my Mac
because it has just one graphic card ! (Intel Iris Plus Graphics 650 1536 MB)
so this solution for the new mac don't work.

I bought my mac pro 2 weeks ago :
MacBook Pro (13-inch, 2017, Four Thunderbolt 3 Ports)
3,3 GHz Intel Core i5
16 GB 2133 MHz LPDDR3
Macintosh HD
Intel Iris Plus Graphics 650 1536 MBand I have the same problem with illustrator , in fact I can't use it because I don't see the color and the path correctly !!! every time i should zoom in - out for understanding better the shape and situation of objects!
i'm so disappointed for this issue , I paid more to have a mac with the best. but for doing the simple work in illustrator I should use another PC ! how it can possible!!!!!! , paying 2500 euro useless.

Since the first update after the big 2018 update of illustrator. Lots of GPU artifacts appear when resizing documents. When switching back to CPU rendering everything works as expected.

Hey! well I have a MacBook 2016 core m3, I installed illustrator cc 2017 it works well, smooth, fast, but I had one bug and it's in text whenever I want to create a text, it doesn't show as it should (by changing zoom sometimes I got the right text), the same problem in illustrator cc 2018, unfortunately..

Hi,
Thanks for information. But could you have this issue fix ASAP? It affects my working now. I cannot do a proper illustration. It's really annoying to see these broken-into-pieces illustrations. Thanks!! -

Hi Moncef,
This seems to be like the issue associated with Mac 10.13 with Intel GPU Card. Can you please confirm your hardware once if they are the same.
Thanks

I have latest version of Illustrator installed with the new release of macOS High Sierra 10.13 on a MacBook Pro Retina 15in, Mid 2014 laptop. However with touchpad control (not magic mouse) use is even worse. Ghost clicks and actions are rampant and object selection is horrific and cursor clicks and drags itself selecting unintended objects, etc. etc. I would think both my space bar and touch pad were driving themselves however these issues only apply to Illustrator and not other apps, include other Adobe Apps. Even the text tool and typing are difficult, partially with the selection issues and even typing text once the selection is made. This applies both to art-board content and the contextual menu selections entering sizes and applying transformations to objects.
Is anyone else experiencing this with a similar system configuration? -

It's NOT the GPU Preview...
The same rendering issues are still present on a 2015 iMac i7 (1 generation old) with plenty of RAM, and 2 GB GPU RAM. Same 'glitches' in objects (simple rotated rectangles, or text that pick up graphic 'bits' from surrounding objects) that appear when the GPU Preview is on.
Whatever you did from CC 18 Beta 21.1.0 to today's release, you broke it. You've admitted you've been trying to do things to the layer structure/panel (to emulate Affinity Designer) to speed up file open/save. I think most of us would take longer file open times to have the rendering work properly.
Back to CC 17...maybe some day decade long bugs/issues will be fixed. Until then, new Properties panel! Yippee.
Is this a harsh comment. Yup. Because every time you guys mess with code and basic functionality, you're messing with our livelihoods. I'll take a Honda with manual transmission that lasts for 20 years, than a Porsche that can't make it out of the driveway because the wheels keep coming off.
