Escape Key and Arrows Not Working With Illustrator 2019
Several keys are not working as intended. The arrow keys do not work at all. The escape key also does not work in certain situations. When creating text, the escape key no longer works to exit out of editing the text.

The issue seems to be fixed for all users. So please let us know if anyone else is still facing it, otherwise we can close the issue.

Escape Key problem was not solved by this. 23.0.2
[Exit Artboard Tool Mode] is no longer showing up in the hotkey preferences.
I just updated to 23.0.2 when the problem started.

My arrow keys do not work only when trying to rename a document in “save as”. For instance, we label our files “v1, v2, v3” for different versions. So if I want to use my arrows to move the cursor back from the end of the extension, It will not move & I have to physically place it w/ my mouse. But I don’t have this issue when creating a new doc, saving for web, or any other aspect of Illustrator (nor do I have this issue in Photoshop “save as”). I tried changing the keyboard increments to “1” as suggested, but it did not work.

Changing the keyboard increments to 1 pt fixed my issue. Arrow keys work now. Illustrator 2019 WIndows Pro

Such an annoying issue. That did not fix this issue. As others have stated, it's slowing me down and time is money. Fix this issue now.

FYI this fix did not work for me on latest mac. This issue started mid working on an artboard.

The bugs we are experiencing in the latest versions of AI and ID are not acceptable. Never mind the frustration and headache it is causing, the work time lost in trying to figure this all out means lost money.
The change did not work and the arrow keys are still not working. Very frustrating. -

I thought my arrow keys weren't working...turns out when it updated it changed my increment to .0000069?! So I put it back to .01 and it's working great!

I think I've solved!
Go to "Edit > Preferences > General" and try to change the "Keyboard increment" (first parameter). Mine was set to 0,0001 px and this value makes it not working with the arrows and the shift key.
