Please remove the "The document [name] is currently getting saved. It will be closed after the save is complete." dialog
Or at least make that optional. It's a common practice to Command-S, Command-W, and now it's an extra step to hit "ok". If you don't click okay (or press enter), it just hangs there, not doing anything until you get rid of the dialog.
Either make the dialog optional, or handle it like InDesign, where the dialog disappears when the file is saved and then the window closes.
SO annoying with 2020 AI
Hi Everyone,
Thanks for the feedback. Want to give an update that we have removed the dialog, and the new experience is available in our latest release build – 24.1.1 for Win and 24.1 for Mac which is available worldwide now, in case you want to give it a try. Now, there will be no blocking message, we will show a “soft message” which will auto-dismiss .
You can update to the latest release using Creative Cloud desktop App: https://helpx.adobe.com/in/creative-cloud/help/creative-cloud-updates.html
Thank you for all the feedback. Keep it coming!

I got the exact same problem. With previous versions of Illustrator, I was used to quickly save and resave a file with different names. Now with Illustrator 2020, I got this annoying message that is slowing me down. I would really like to find a way to save my files like I used to do before. Please help.

It's a good idea but breaks some actions that end with save>close. The popup stops the action till you close it, breaking automation. It doen't always do it, but enough times it will carry on to the next action step before the save is complete. And when the next step is 'close', the popup happens. The popup should definietly close itself when the file is saved at least, and maybe not appear at all if some kind of automation is in progress, action or script

When saving a document ever since upgrading to CC2020 i get "the document '___' is currently getting saved. Try again after the process is complete. Then can click OK or Stop Saving. How do i speed up my process?? Never ran into this before CC2020

Yes this is a strange dialogue box to have. It (ironically) stops saving while the dialogue box appears, and there is no way of turning it off. Also, why when you've hit SAVE and then CLOSE would you want to "Close Anyway"???

THIS IS SO F**** ANNOYING.
if you're using illustrator correctly, it doesn't even take that long to save a file. Why even have the pop up.
but why doesn't the popup go away when the files finishes saving, instead of sitting there like an idiot.this wasn't broken. why did the 'fix' it.

Oh, and what's with "Close Anyways" -- apart from the casual language :D -- will it break my file if I exit in the middle of the save?!?

I am happy with the new background save function, but it is frustrating that you have to click OK in the background save dialog to close your document.
Let the dialog close by itself like in Photoshop please (when Illustrator is done saving), so I can hit Cmd+S and Cmd+W and go about my business -- instead of having to wait for the dialog and click OK to something I know already.
Thanks!
