When I create a new document, I can't see the window with all the parameters (name, size, etc...) So I just can't create a new document! All I can do is open an old document, save a copy and erase everything to work in this document... I restarted my computer, installed the new version 25.2, nothing.

It is a work around but go to edit/preferences/general and check the box of (legacy" create new" format)

trying to create a newfile just shows me a grey screen.

I did the 25.0 update this morning and I can't get illustrator to start a blank new document. When it opens the whole lower area is just grey. I can open old documents, but the "New Document" option literally does nothing.

Since updating my Illustrator to the 2021 version, the current version, and any other versions prior to it that I have reverted to have not been able to open new documents. When I launch the app, it opens the 'Welcome to Illustrator' window like normal, and I can open existing projects fine, but as soon as I go to 'Create New' or 'Templates', it won't open a new document window. The buttons don't seem to respond at all.
I've tried uninstalling Illustrator 2021 and re-installing, to no effect. I've installed the previous 2020 version, with the same bug where I can't open new documents. It's incredibly frustrating.

The only way I can make a 'new' document is to open an existing document, resize the artboard and save as a copy.

THIS IS AN ISSUE ACROSS ILLUSTRATOR, INDESIGN AND PHOTOSHOP 2021.

I recently had to uninstall and reinstall. Now when I try to create a new custom document these screen is blank and doesn't give me the options needed to create the specs I need. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling again, but no luck.

Go to Preferences > General > Check 'Use legacy "File New" interface'. And all is well again. Hope this helps.

Nur, meanwhile you can revert to legacy New window in Preferences > General. It won’t fix that one, but it will allow you to work.

Nah, I'm good. I just turned off the home screen. Turns out I don't miss it at all.

The same happens to me, the screen goes black and I have to use a template and modify the artboard.

In Illustrator 24.2 when creating a new document and you select create new you are getting a blank screen.

This issue started as soon as Illustrator was updated to version 24.2, basically when working o a document, and you save it and close it, you try to create a new document, but there is no dialog for the new document.

I'm having various issues along these lines with Illustrator 24.1.3

For example - right now I have one .ai document open. I open a second document and the tab appears, and when I click the tab the layers panel changes to show the layers of the second document, but the work area still displays the first document I have open. From there I hit the 'home' button to see what would happen, and I just got a whole screen of blank areas like what you have here in your screenshot.

Getting really annoying.
