PDF save
in Ai CC 2017 and earlier i could save a file to "press quality" and uncheck the "preserve illustrator editing capabilities" to make a smaller PDF... a 70 MB Ai file could be saved to a "press quality" file at about 16 MB. now when i uncheck said box the PDF is 700KB and doesn't open as a PDF but has this text: "This is an Adobe® Illustrator® File that was saved without PDF Content". and if i leave it checked the resulting PDF is the same size as the Ai file. What happened?

Slightly different, but same message - I have very recently updated to MacOS High Sierra, and upgraded all Adobe CC software. Now, when I save .ai files I created previously, I get the same message. When my customers receive my files, they have a ".ai.ps" extension on them. When the post script is removed, the file will open. But the files on MY COMPUTER don't have the .ps, and still do not preview correctly. This is just since upgrading. Any fix?

Well, typical of these sort of bugs... it now saves the way it should... a 70 MB Ai file now saves down to a 16 MB PDF when unchecking the "preserve illustrator editing capabilities". Thanks for checking this out on your end.
