Moving objects - error message "can't move the object"
I'm working with vectors and type. Since the update to CC2018, at random moments and in multiple files, I'll select a vector object and select some text, then try to move them, and I'll receive the error message "Can't move the objects. The requested transformation would make some objects too large". The problem is going to force me to revert back to the 2017 version of Illustrator - please make sure this is fixed ASAP. See attached screen grab.
We have tried to fix the issue in the current release. Please update Illustrator using Adobe Creative Cloud application to the latest build for version Illustrator CC 22.1.
Please refer to our knowledge base FAQ – https://illustrator.uservoice.com/knowledgebase/articles/1844590 if you face difficulty in the update.
Warm Regards,
Ashutosh Chaturvedi | Sr. Quality Engineering Manager – Illustrator
Adobe. Make It an Experience.
PS: We are only referring to the issue that got introduced in CC 2018. As I can see there were few workflows that were existing even in older releases. Please log a separate request for it so that we all can track it better

What I did was just created a separate file for the 'offending' illustration I was trying to resize and Placing it instead of trying to move it.

the sulution is :
1- go to the preferences
2- select selection & anchor point
3- remove the tick from the first one ( object sellection by bath only) -

The update fixed it for me. Thx!

1. CC 22.1 is a worldwide release so should be available Australia. Please contact Adobe support if you had version CC 22.0.1 you should be seeing update button on your Adobe creative cloud application
2. This post was about the "Can't move the objects. The requested transformation would make some objects too large" that got introduced in CC 2018 (22.0). If you still have a file that was working well in CC 2017 but not in CC 2018 please email us on sharewithai@adobe.com -

Hi,
No Illustrator CC 22.1 available for Australia? Only 22.0, very frustrating :(.
Thank you,

I updated to v.22.1. This bug seems to be fixed (as well as the "this has been modified outside of illustrator. Are you sure you want to save?" bug).

Illustrator 2018 is a complete failure. Every time I try it I'm stunned by how bad it is. Whatever staff changes happened since the last version need to be undone. Along with all of the software changes that were made. For 2019, Adobe should literally scrap everything and start again from the excellent 2017 version.

Currently having the same problem, and it's completely hampering my ability to work in AI

I had this problem when copying and pasting groups with guides in them. Deleting the unused guides freed the shape again.

Me and my colleague have the same issue, while moving items (grouped or not doesn't make a difference) and the same error message occurred. Then you click OK, try it again and it works again.
Yesterday we had the same error message, but we were not able to proceed. We only could move the objects in too large steps. -

I have this same issue. Also, like someone else said, when I duplicate an artboard but also it will do this randomly. Seems to lock up on different layers. Ungrouping does not help, and it even prevents pasting artwork onto the artboard. For instance I'll cut and paste the same box that was on the artboard prior and it will come up with the error message. Such a pain in the you know what. Have had this issue randomly over the past few months and it hasn't gone away!

Does this for me with multiple files. No common issue is apparent. It also sometimes gives this error when I try to duplicate an artboard.

I have the same issue and the same version of illustrator, assuming it is a bug. For some reason when I go to "object > flatten transparency" its fixes the problem
