Selection of all objects inside a group instead selects group
In previous versions of Illustrator if I was inside a group, and I selected all the objects, it would treat it like typical multi-selection. Now once I've selected all the objects, Illustrator behaves as though I have selected the group.
For example, I have 3 objects at 40% opacity. I group them, so now there's a group (with 100% opacity) containing 3 objects (at 40% opacity). When I enter the isolated group, and I select the first object, the transparency shows 40%. Nothing changes when I select the second object (still shows 40%). However, when I select the third object, it now shows 100% (the containing group transparency).
I'm not sure if this is a bug or a feature, but it feels more like the former to me. If I wanted to select the group as a whole, I would back out of the currently active isolation group and select the group.
I am happy to share that we have fixed this bug in our latest release – 24.2.0 which is available worldwide now.
Going forward, our goal is to fix as many top User-Voice bugs as possible and as frequently as possible. Given the nature of the fixes, some of the bugs will take a longer time to fix, but we are on it.

Thank you for all the feedback. Keep it coming!

This seems like a bug.
I started a new document, placed two objects, grouped them, and when I went into isolation mode and selected both objects, it selected the whole grouped sub-group layer. So if I duplicate the objects while in isolation, it just creates another separate group, not additional objects from the original group.
Pretty sure this worked as intended (duplicated objects from original group in isolation mode would just duplicate more objects within that original group) just a short while ago.

I am also having this issue, it's been happening for a month now. I am also experiencing issues with grouping/ungrouping layers, but them not taking effect when I'm trying to select different layers - it's having me either select every single point on every single layer to determine if I want to push it back or bring it up. I have even tried in some cases, getting rid of my grouped layers altogether and using "Send Backward" and "Send Forward" - but this does not work either.
I've tried creating a new document and redesigning in it, but it still has the same behavior. This has ***seriously*** impacted my work flow, and I can't even get the designs complete.

Yes, I have same problem (but with different circumstances) every day.
For example, my group has complex appearance, I have isolated it, and now want to select all objects to apply some inside appearance to it.
I say Ctrl+A and group got selected as an object, not components.
I have to got to Layers and select all objects by hand, manually targeting each appearance dot, because I can't Shift+click parent object's marker to quickly select components, it unselects eveything.
I cant select list with clicking first inside object in column and then shift+click last one, because it selects only in Layers and not real objects (and I can't turn this selection into real selection). But worst case is when I'm inside clipping mask. I want to select only contents, to move it, I Ctrl+A (or marquee, same thing), and AI selects clipping mask too, and selection's edge is now clipping mask.
Yes, I can move mouse all way back from actual art to control panel and press 'Edit Contents' button there. At least Shift+clicking mask's marker does the trick, because mask is placed in same level.I don't know how to solve this yet. 'Isolation' means you disable everything except selected object, yes. But in many cases it seems to be treated like opening a box and doing thing with contents only.
At lease can you make Ctrl+A pressed again switch between container got selected and contents?
