Direct selection tool not resizing selected artwork
When I try to click on an anchor point and resize my artwork with the direct selection tool, it does not resize the artwork anymore. It just moves the artwork. Fortunately, I can still use the Free Transform Tool to resize objects and artwork. This is on Windows 10 in Illustrator CC 22.1.

Having this issue too where sporadically objects will not scale (via normal method of using DS tool to grab corner of bounding box). The boxes are visible at the corners, but when I try to scale the image is grabbed and dragged from that point.
This is affecting my images, text boxes, and vectors.
Highly frustrating. @Illustrator please assist with fix -

Show bounding box is ON, having the same issue. Can go to object>scale to resize but there are no white squares to pull on to resize the regular way, or to rotate, or do anything else. the selection tool is white in the middle and when you point to a corner it says "path" and if you pull it moves the image...

I just did Ctrl(Cmd)+H to show outlines. It worked immediately, I must have pressed it before by accident.

Having the same issue, wish there was a better way than totally reinstalling illustrator :/

Hey I'm having the same trouble and have uninstalled and reinstalled Illustrator a number of times now and it works fine again for a while but then has the same issue again. A fix would be greatly appreciated!

I uninstalled and reinstalled Illustrator. Now it is working fine. Not sure why it stopped working.
