View Rotation Feature is obstructing regular pinching in or out gesture for zooming, when using the trackpad
When using the pinching in or out gesture on the trackpad, to zoom in or out.
The artboard gets rotated very easily if there is even a slight rotation in the gesture while.
And then part 2 of problem. Its impossible to set it back to 0degrees. It keeps snapping between some low degrees
I am happy to share that we have fixed this bug in our latest release – 25.4.1 which is available worldwide now.
Going forward, our goal is to fix as many top User-Voice bugs as possible and as frequently as possible. Given the nature of the fixes, some of the bugs will take a longer time to fix, but we are on it.
You can update to the latest release using Creative Cloud desktop App: https://helpx.adobe.com/in/creative-cloud/help/creative-cloud-updates.html
Thank you for all the feedback. Keep it coming!

A lock the rotation would be very useful! Especially if it could be added as a shortcut too. In the meantime the best thing I have done is create a new shortcut cmd + shift + 0, then I can very quickly reset the rotation and fit artboard to screen (cmd + shift + 1 didn't work for me) as an alternative to Esc. But as I use a tablet it is way too sensitive and rotates the view unintentionally, this is happening constantly.

Really don't like this new rotate canvas feature. It's too easy to accidentally rotate the canvas on a Mac when using two fingers to navigate the cursor.
I accidentally rotated the canvas and it will not snap back to 0. It jumps from 7 degrees to negative 6 degrees, with no 0 degree in sight.

God I hate this feature, When I accidentally rotate the screen I have been staring at for 2 hours I get literal motion sickness. Just make a lock function!

Is there any news on a work around for this?
Adding an option to lock the canvas would be great because this is driving me nuts trying to pinch zoom without tilting everything.

Please just give us an option to lock the artboards in place. This is interfering with my work and making it impossible. Please help us!

A lock feature is certainly necessary, here.

There's a confusion on my system as well recognizing pinch or zoom with an Apple trackpad, OS Big Sur.

I need to be able to disable this feature. I use the two finger rotate (system trackpad setting) all the time working in other apps, so I am not willing to loose that feature to fix an Adobe problem.

I have never had cause to rotate a canvas view in illustrator in all the years I have been using it (since version 6). While some people may have requested this feature I feel it should only be available whilst holding down a modifier key to invoke it, or only while you have the specific tool selected. Using a track pad it has been so frustration this afternoon whilst trying to do simple tasks like dragging a selection. Constantly having to reset the view rotation. This should not be a default behaviour. I can't wait for the update that sorts this out.

I don't want to reset the rotate view when I accidentally gesture it
"Disabling this gesture" feature is must to have.
Thanks.

When zooming in/out on files, I keep accidentally rotating the artboard because the trackpad motion is almost identical. When communicating with someone from Adobe, they said the only way to remedy this was to go back to an older version of the software.
It would be great if there was a way to turn off or lock the new canvas rotation feature!

Hi - it looks like there is no option to lock the canvas from being rotated but it is pretty sensitive to magic trackpad. So would be great if we could either adjust sensitivity or be able to lock it.

When you rotate the canvas using your touchpad, once you change it from 0 degrees, the only way to go back to normal rotation is by changing it in the rotation box. Also, Illustrator doesn't view canvas rotation as a change, so you can't undo it using the command/control z shortcut.
