Thanks for reporting this — this is not the experience you should have with Illustrator.
Could you please share the problematic PDF file with us at ShareWithAI@adobe.com so we can investigate further?
It would also help if you could share:
1. Whether you’re seeing this issue on Windows or macOS
2. Your OS version and Illustrator version
3. Your system configuration (CPU, RAM, GPU)
4. Whether disabling GPU Performance in Illustrator changes the behavior
5. Whether this happens with all PDFs or only this specific file
6. Whether the PDF is linked or embedded
7. A short screen recording showing the lag/redraw issue, if possibleAnmol Sud

Re-tested the PDF:
When PDF is all visible [on 29.7.1] I got a 2 seconds of beach ball after clicking to move it
BUT
When I'm zoomed in and a part of PDF is out of view this slows down a lot [5-6 sec] to redraw. Same response in beta 29.9.14.
Cannot send file here it's a CV generated on some on-line service…I'm attaching some screenshots from Acrobat Pro. File is not large, it has just weird long aspect ratio.

Odd... Can you reproduce it with a PDF created form scratch? If no — can you share this small PDF that causes the problems?
Also, a video that shows how exactly is works at your side would be helpful.
Also ×2 — does it behave any different on Beta?
