Direct Selection Tool not working
I'm on a Macbook pro (macOS Big Sur version 11.7) using Adobe Illustrator 2023.
When using the direct selection tool and clicking on an object or path, the anchors don't show up and the object/path does not look like it is selected. However, if I run my mouse around the edge of the object/path then the anchors will show up when the mouse is hovered above it and I can select the specific anchor. However the handles don't show up.
What can I do to fix this?
I've tried restarting my computer and resetting my preferences but the problem still…3 votes -
Undo after deleting a line created with the Pen tool freezes Illustrator
OS: Windows 10 Enterprise
AI Version: 25.4.1,
Bug replicated with three different computers and instances of Illustrator, all same OS, same AI version, same freeze.I had a bunch more steps when I ran across this problem, but I was able to replicate it with much fewer steps like so:
With the pen tool, draw a couple vertices.
Delete the line you're making from the table of contents.
Click on the canvas anywhere; the line reappears with a new vertex which you just made.

"Corner" anchor points become smooth when joining active Curvature Tool line
Create a line that contains a corner (any tool).
Begin drawing a second line with the Curvature Tool.
As part of your new Curvature Tool line, click either end of the first line.This causes a conversion of corner points to smooth points.
I posted this issue on stack exchange (see link below) and was told this was a bug. It certainly wouldn't make sense as a feature, so that seems like a legitimate conclusion.

Mising Anchor Points not sure why
I am running the latest version of Illustrator CC from my Windows 10 PC. It is a project that I have been working on, both my computer and on my Ipad. I don't know if it is that I recently added materials from Substance on the computer, used the 3D options, then went to make changes on the Ipad later on, but now opening the document on the computer again, I am not getting any anchor points when using the direct selection tool. Single click on a radial gradient with gradient tool does nothing...
When using the gradient tool on a radial gradient, a single-click should move the center of the gradient to the click location. This only works if the gradient annotator is turned on, otherwise nothing happens. See attached video.

Custom Brushes no longer working in newset update 25.3.1
My custom brushes stopped working with the new update. When I switch between custom brushes it either does not change or changes to the incorrect brush.
I have several custom brush files that I use for my job and this is happening with all of them.
I switched Ilustrator back to the previous version, 25.2.3, and the brushes are working fine, however I would prefer to be using the most up to date version of illustrator and to not have to rebuild 5 custom brush files that each contain around 7-20 brush variations.
I am on Windows 10.

Alt+tap with Rotate or Reflect tool + Wacom tablet makes Illustrator unresponsive
Trying to open the dialog box for precise Rotate or Reflect settings by Alt+tapping with a stylus on a Wacom tablet makes Illustrator unresponsive for an undetermined period of time.
The dialog box may eventually open (after 30-90 seconds), but in the meantime, Illustrator cannot be closed, and none of the menus, tools and commands work. The bug only occurs with a stylus, Alt+clicking with a mouse never produces this issue.
The bug was reported on Adobe Support Community already in 2019 but has not been fixed even in the most recent Illustrator release. It seems to be a problem…

My brush and pencil settings wont stay selected
Whenever I select the options for my pencil or brush tool, e.g. uniform + basic, the menu changes to a default unwanted option, or gets stuck on one previously used. My paintbrush or blob brush tool does the same thing but goes further. It does not show the path or shape I'm drawing until after I've released the left click key or pen pressure.

Live corners are stretching
The corners are supposed to be live, but yet they stretch/distort when transforming. Objects with round corners should retain their radii, or I should have the option/keyboard modifier to change this behavior. The radio button in the transform palette is not working.
The options should be scale, distort, or retain current value.

The pencil tool doesn't close the path when you draw small objects
If you draw a small dot with pencil tool it will not close the path. That little circle under the cursor indicating that it will close the path never pops up. So now you have to zoom in if you want to draw small shapes and get a closed path.
Changing the number in the "Close paths when ends are within:" doesn't do anything so that's not the problem. It's a new bug.
This was no issue in CS6. You could hold "Alt" to close the path no matter how tiny shapes you were drawing.

Smooth Blend Tool Broken
On the Mac OS, when blending between two shapes using the smooth blend tool, 7/10 times the blend will not be smooth but have one step between the shapes. I can instead create lots of steps as a work-around, but the designated tool does not work. If the shapes are separated far enough, more (but few) steps will appear.
In the images below, you will see an attempted blend between a dark green gradient square, and a light green square. I am using the smooth blend tool.

Warped Object moves up artboard when changing Bend or Distortion
- Using Windows 10, latest version, and Adobe Illustrator V 25.1 (but this has occurred in every version of AI I've ever owned)
- After I warp an object, if I change the Bend or Distortion amount in the Top Toolbar the object shifts up the artboard. This happens whether I input an amount and hit enter, or if I just use the arrow keys to increase or decrease an amount. Additionally, if I go into the Object>Envelope Distort>Reset with Warp menu, it shifts up.

Image trace does not limit colors in grayscale
When using the grayscale mode in image trace and limiting the number of colors image trace creates an unlimited range of grays. I selected ten grays, expanded, and when clicking "re-color artwork", more grays than I would waste time counting are shown (at least 50, but maybe more).

The Stacked Bar Graph tool doesn’t add up correctly in Illustrator 2021.
I’m designing a publication with lots of data. These figures have to be absolutely correct, since they’re economical and official. I noticed that the Stacked Bar Graph tool doesn’t produce bars of equal length and doesn’t align on the right. There are notable differences even though all my data add up to 100 and have three decimals.
What a shock, if anything should be correct this is it.

left toolbox missing
updated to version 24.3 and left toolbox missing. got a message before programme starts that many plugins missing in a dialog box. went to search at window>tools but tools is not at the dropdown menu

direct selection tool causes broken anchor points to snap to same angle???
Since 24.3 the direct selection tool causes absolutely unwanted snapping of broken anchor points while moving one of the anchor points. That's absolutely wired and stops any workflow. Please fix this quickly again!

Bug with end of line - Convert selected anchor point to smooth
When you have a line in illustrator where you:
Select using the direct selection tool (A)
Convert the point to smooth using (B)
And get the fabulus result (C).
BUT you also end up with point D where the alignment of the line is always vertical.3 votes -

Individual anchor points fail to move with direct selection tool, and cannot add, delete or modify anchor points. It happens only after a period of time working in a file. If I cut and paste the shape, the ability to manipulate the anchors returns for a time. If I close and reopen the file, the same is true. Working in the print industry, this is a big waste of time dealing with this bug. Happening on all systems in the department. Also just updated to 24.2.3, no change.
