Image Trace script does not recognize uppercase JPG files, only lowercase jpg
Ai v 27.2 (64bit) Windows 10.
Image Trace Script is not recognizing uppercase JPG file extensions, only images with lowercase jpg extension.
I have not tried the same for PNG vs png to see if it is also not recognizing upper vs lower case extensions.
The folder of images I was testing has mixed case JPG/jpg extensions. These images had been created in Photoshop.2 votes -
Zooming manually (on trackpad) works on and off
When I try to zoom in or out, it doesn't always work. I'm having this issue on Adobe XD in addition to Illustrator. I use my trackpad to zoom (scroll/pinch to zoom) and it works fine in all other software so I know it's not my computer.
It started within the past year and has gotten worse. I'm not sure what causes the issue, sometimes it's like that when I open the app, or sometimes it just does it mid-work session. I was using Adobe XD yesterday and noticed that dragging in an image to the artboard made zooming possible…

Problem with linked png files
I opened a file I had last edited in January 2022 and it says there are a lot of missing files. Upon inspection it turns out only the png files are missing, jpegs are still linked. Now when I try to relink the missing files nothing happens. I'm taken back to the dialog box which said that the file is missing. There's no way for me to relink the pngs!

Illustrator 26.3.1 Mac - Rulers Not Working Properly
Rulers won't be set to Artboard Rulers. Option for Global Rulers is greyed out. Sometimes a glitch appears in the upper right corner of the ruler. See images for examples.

Please Fix: Function "create outline" unpredictably results in pixel error
Converting a path by the "create outline" function unpredictably results in pixel errors. See pictures:
Pic1.: Path object in pixel preview. Position is correct.
Pic2.: Result after applying "create outline" function.
Position of outline path is wrong in fourth place after comma leading to a grey fragment. The only solution is to repair every outline in a very time consuming process. In my view is a critical error when trying to work pixel perfect. Please solve this issue!2 votes -

Whenever I form a shape with the Rectangle Tool, the Select Tool won't provide the option to resize the selected shape.

Data merge doesnt allow data field names that start with a number
Variables panel > Data merge doesnt allow data field names that start with a number and the help site doesnt say this is an issue.
Please update the website to explain data field names can't start with a number.

Moving rotation anchor sticks to cursor - Pen tablet
Windows 10 64bit.
For literally years now, when you use a wacom pen, hold alt to move to the position of an object's rotation anchor, it sticks the anchor to the cursor and there's no way of detaching it unless you minimise and reopen the software.
This has been a problem for more versions than I can count. (We're talking in excess of five years, probably more?) It's happened on different machines and different pen tablets so it's a software problem. Oh how I'd love it to be actually fixed one day!

Transform Each panel calculating center point differently than rotate tool for arrowheads AI 26.0.1
Lines with arrowheads are rotated off center when using Transform Each as opposed to rotating each separately using the rotate tool. The first screenshot shows the initial position. The next shows the position after using Transform Each. The next two show individual transforms of the objects in question.

The Corner Widget doesn't appear in all corners
Where is previous versions Corner Widgets appeared in every corner, the current version doesn't show 'm in a lot of cases.

Pen Tool in illustrator
In the new version of illustrator 25.4.1, their is a bug in the pen tool. When I click on the pen tools in the toolbar, the software will hang up with the spinning ball for about a minute. This has happened repeatedly

PEN TOOL IS BROKEN
Option/alt+click on anchor doesn't work. It used to make anchor points to curve OR corner. It even says "Pen: Make Corner" at the bottom of the window in the "current tool" field, but actually it just creates NEW PATH.
And the Anchor point tool icon changes to "Pen tool - start path" icon on hover.So you've actually managed to broke the most essential feature of Illustrator - which is to draw and modify vectors. Awesome job!
It would be actually rather funny if it wasn't COSTING ME MONEY THE WHOLE TIME FOR F*CKS SAKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Shape tool bug
I have opened Illustrator today and a troubleshooting message appears where the shape tool is not working. Illustrator has since opened, and the shape tool is no longer there on the toolbar.

Inaccurate graph size
Have seen this in versions of Adobe Illustrator since cs4 to cc 2021
Currently running on Mac OS 11 Big Sur.When you click with the graph tool the graph generated does not match the dimensions entered. I have had results that vary from 1 to 2 points smaller but not always the same though always 1, 1.5 or 2 points. If it is one of the circular graphs it is even worse with the graph being 12.5% smaller plus -1.5 points. I have clients who request exact graph sizes and it takes 2 or three attempts to get it…

Can’t zoom out after editing a text
When I zoom in on text with a magnifying glass.
Then switch to the text tool, change the text and switch back to the magnifying glass, then I can no longer zoom out with the Alt key.
I have to switch to the selection tool first. And then back to the magnifying glass to zoom out with the alt key. Does that make any sense?
When I want to zoom out with the Alt key, the hand always appears to move.

Scale, move and rotate dialog boxes don't hold most recent values when you press return to open dialog box
MACOS MOJAVE 10.14.6
ILLUSTRATOR 24.3When i open the scale dialog box it has always held the most recent scale value, so if i wanted to scale something up 5% i would Press "S" on the keyboard, then type 105, hit return. then if i wanted to go another 5% i would hit return (to open the dialog box) and it would remember 105 in the active field. then i would hit return again to apply.

Pencil tool fidelity issue when smoothing lines added anchor points NEW AI VERSION
The pencil tool is not responding to the fidelity even if is 100% smooth it will add anchor points making the drawing really wobbly. I noticed this only happens on the new Illustrator2021 version running on Mojave 11.1. Seems to be a common issue currently See link below:

Can't place circle or square in middle of other circle or square.
On circle tool.
1) Draw a circle
2) Go to the middle of the circle to draw another cirlce.
3) It does not let me. (Changes to some selection tool)This did not used to happen in older versions of illustrator. When it changed I just lived with it, but working on a file now where I have to create a bunch of objects in middle of other objects and its driving me mad. Anyway to revert it back to the way it used to be? (probably worked fine in about 2010)
