  1. Problem with raster effects printing

    We have had to outlaw the use of raster effects here because of the distortion they cause when an AI file is saved as a PDF.

    Our workflow for printing is the save our work from Illustrator as a PDF file which is then placed in an InDesign document. Any raster effects used in the graphic end up adding lines the edge of the effect as well as shifting the colors touched by the effect.

  2. Symbols | Mapping stroke to 3D-Model will distort stroke

    Hi together,

    recently I came accross a mapping bug with a stroke ( width 0.2 Pt ) applied to a waving flag shape used in a symbol that was mapped to a 3D model.

    Workarounds like expanding the stroke and working with an extra path element stacked behind the flag shape did not help.

    The only workaround that will help is rendering the elements to an image and implement the placed and not linked image…

  3. Twist effect does not act on a group as a whole...

    When applying [Effects -> Distort and Transform -> Twist] to a group, the effect is applied on an individual object level and not on the group as a whole.

  4. Legacy blur lost when pasting into a new document.

    An object with a legacy blur loses it's setting when copying and pasting into a new document. The blur is still listed in appearance, but there is no value and effectively no blur.

    Text block is now a group with a raster image for the drop shadow. I have to reapply the drop shadow in order to correctly edit the text block.

  6. 3d extrude and bevel problem

    I am using windows 10 and Illustrator wont do a 3d extrude or bevel and says not enough memory when there us enough memory.

  7. Stylize Outer Glow does not show

    BUG: When applying "Effect >> Stylize >> Outer Glow", the effect does not appear on object stroke or fill.

    This is constant between multiple files.

  8. Artistic effects converting artwork to black

    Attempting to apply any Effects>Effect Gallery will render the vector artwork into black and white. Thinking it was a Pantone conflict, I've tried conversion to CMYK with same results.

  9. Blending Modes BUG in Ai

    1. Version of Adobe Illustrator - 22.1 Machine: iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, Late 2015) Graphics: AMD Radeon R9 M380 2048 MB
    2. The issues - Using Blending Modes (specifically Screen/Color Burn). Worked both in on-screen preview mode & saved as a jpg, Thursday, April 12th, 2018. Today, Monday April 16th, they are not displaying properly on-screen, in print, or in saved file preview. (if color mode is switched to RGB, blending mode displays more properly, but not in Overprint Preview) Screen blending mode disappears/Color Burn retains only some parts of the graphic in black. Does not translate between cc programs either.

  10. 3D Effects dithering in Illustrator for MacOS

    I'm noticing in Illustrator version 29.3.1 in MacOS Sequoia 15.3.1 a graphics problem and dithering of objects that have a 3D effect applied. Specifically, I'm using the 'Inflate' effect and am seeing objects sometimes as dithered or pixelated and others that are smooth and normal. I can temporarily smooth the dither if I move the object on the screen, but then other objects with the same effect can have dithers. I'm using a MacBook ProM4 with 48GB and also two 4K 32" monitors. If I move the Illustrator window to another screen, the dithering still remains on some objects unless…

  11. Eyedropper not working when object is within nested groups

    Illustrator V. 29.1
    MacOS Ventura 13.6.2

    I need to be able to direct select objects that are within nested groups and then eyedropper to change how only that object looks. This feature doesn't work correctly and I don't want to have to click + click + click + click + click to get into the isolated object for every single shape I need to do this on every day.   12. Extrude on the 3D Materials panel is inaccurate.

    The extrude function does not extrude by the amount I type in.
    It used to work on my desktop but never on my laptop and now it works on neither. It extrudes but by less than a third of whatever I type in. Don't know why this happens or why its started doing it on my desktop too.

    I find it eliminates the usefulness of the whole 3D Materials panel.

  13. Struggling with Invisible Geometry when mapping a 3D object

    I’m having a trouble with this invisible geometry. It just doesn’t work for a cross object. Either I’m doing something wrong or I don’t know.

    A test file is needed along with full specs of your system, including GPU model and its driver’s version.

  14. Can’t apply Blur effects other than Gaussian blur, all other dialogs are broken

    I can't use blur effects, only the gaussian blur I can use.
    My laptop is MacBook M1.

  15. Illustrator crashes after adding 3D Materials from Adobe Substance. Deleting default materials leads to problems

    Since I downloaded 3D materials in the Adobe substance online application, and added them into Illustrator, the application crashes.
    I was able to reach the file (Illustrator Application > Show Package Contents > Contents > Resources > Material Resources > DefaultSubstanceMaterials.) But when I delete them, the textures no longer load, impossible to reboot, try other versions, uninstall-reinstall. It always appears like that, I don't know what to do anymore. Impossible to reuse the materials. If you have a solution, I'm interested. Thank for reading :)

  16. 3D Extrude & Bevel

    I've been working with some of my previous design clients and noticed that when I add the extrude and bevel to a rectangle shape and I choose the draw hidden faces function it just don't show up when I do the expand appearance. I tried to edit by going back to the appearance panel and deactivate and then reactivate it then it worked. Has anyone got this before or it's only me ?

  19. Problème Export 3D dans Illustrator: fichier .OBJ et USDZ

    Dans illustrator, après avoir appliqué l'effet 3D, je l'exporte en fichier .OBJ et .USDZ.
    Les problèmes sont:
    - Bug de luminosité (trop forte et non corrigeable) du fichier .OBJ dans After effect (Image ci jointe)
    - Bug du fichier .USDZ (absence de texture) lors de l'affichage en réalité augmentée sur Iphone (derniere version IOS 17.4.1) (image ci jointe)

    Pouvez-vous corriger ces bugs svp? trop nombreux à mon gout pour un logiciel payant..

  20. Effect > Path> Outline Stroke only works if applied to an entire object, not to a stroke

    Sometimes when I am making a complex Appearance stack I want to start with a basic stroke, outline it, and do more stuff to it, but I cannot, because this only applies to the entire object. Please fix this. It's annoying.
