Recolor not working with Color Books
- Windows 11 Pro 25H2
- Adobe Illustrator Desktop v30.7
- Steps:
Select artwork to be recolored>in the recolor advanced options diaglogue panel select the color book (doesn't appear to matter which one)>results are that some or all of the "new" colors are 50%black.
- Until yesterday when I updated Illustrator to the most recent version, recoloring cmyk or rgb colors to a specific color book, specifically my old pantone+ solid coated color book as that's what I use for work, returned the expected pantone+ solid coated equivelant colors consistently. Help please!
We have rolled out a fix for this issue in our latest Beta build. Please update your Beta builds to latest update (30.9.14) and let us know your observations.

Recolor Artwork converts colors to grayscale when using user-defined swatches after 30.7 update (works correctly in 30.5, 30.6)

Also experiencing this on MacOS, Tahoe 26.5.1, Illustrator 30.7
Only Color Books and custom swatches added are affected. Behavior is as OP described. After selecting any color book (I tested all), the new color will be 50% black for all current colors.
Interestingly, these are the only .acb or .acbl swatches installed, all other swatches are .ase and currently function as normal. This might be related to the issue.
