fyi Mark, object>path>reverse path direction exists now and can be assigned a shortcut, but this by no means obliviates my desire for tons more shortcuttable items in general!

God yes.
I currently have almost EVERY SINGLE ALLOWABLE SHORTCUT mapped to something. There's about thirty keystrokes in the combination of `1234567890-=qwertyuiop[]asdfghjkl;'zxcvbnm,./ plus command, command-opt, command-shift, or command-opt-shift that are unassigned.
If I could assign stuff to command-control-something, command-opt-control-something, command-shift-control-something, and command-opt-shift-control something, I would have SO MUCH MORE FREEDOM when adding keystrokes for new features from Adobe or plugins.
I guess this might cause problems when sharing shortcuts to Windows, as they only have ctrl/alt/shift available for shortcuts, with the Windows key reserved for OS shortcuts? I dunno. I never use Windows. Display a warning that this shortcut is not portable to Windows when I assign something that uses the control key, change the color of half the Keyboard Shortcut dialogue to red or yellow to make this warning super obvious, I'm fine with that.
(This comment brought to you by me going through the Keyboard Shortcuts dialogue and trying to apply *every allowable shortcut* to a plugin's menu item and writing down which ones were used or not.)

This one seems to have come back, I am finding that curve handles are only grabbable with my Wacom stylus in the very center pixel, no matter how large I’ve set the curve handles to display. I’m currently on 24.1.2 , I’m waiting for 24.2.1 to fix some issues I’ve been hearing about losing basic functions on 24.2.0 before upgrading.

As per the comment from the OP, the LaunchBar clipboard manager seems to not be compatible the Illustrator format. The same happens with other clipboards managers, including the default one for Windows. However, there are reports it used to work with previous versions of Illustrator. If you have more details on this, or the same problem, — please comment.

I've been having this problem too. Just spent a half hour swearing at it today.
I find that SOMETIMES it will save. Sometimes. If I just move stuff around it will usually save, for instance; ungrouping stuff that was grouped when I made the pattern will result in crash-on-save, so will changing the name.
Saving from the menu instead of the shortcut does not make any difference.
Doing file>save as... instead of file>save will also result in an instant crash, with nothing changing in the filesystem.
I've attached a file that's nothing but a pattern that's ready to crash, with some text in the document on how to quickly reproduce this.

Ah, I found it: I'd recently installed the Magic Picker plugin. Removing that fixed it.
I guess I should try going back up to 24.0.3 and see if it solves the 'sometimes hangs when opening up a document from disc' problems I've been having. :)

Hi Everyone,
All the effect checkboxes have now been set to ON by default, and are sticky (meaning that if you disable preview, on next launch of Illustrator preview will remain disabled). This functionality now is available in our latest release build – 24.1.1 for Win and 24.1 for Mac which is available worldwide now.
We are working on making all remaining preview check-boxes sticky. Will update this thread when done!
What’s new in 24.1: https://helpx.adobe.com/illustrator/using/whats-new.html
You can update to the latest release using Creative Cloud desktop App: https://helpx.adobe.com/in/creative-cloud/help/creative-cloud-updates.html
Thank you for all the feedback.

God yes, it’s not 2000 any more.
Every window with a Preview checkbox should save the state of its checkbox and come up with the same setting I left it on.

Seriously, just copy over the Photoshop motion blur effect. And maybe some of the other blur effects in PS's effects>blur gallery menu while you're at it?

2021 beta, 25.0.1.68.
1. I can only apply Repeat to artwork, not to a layer. I love being able to just freely draw stuff on a layer and have whatever effects I've applied to it Just Happen. Going into an isolation group is a ton of hassle compared to just selecting a layer.
2. Repeat does not show up in the Appearance palette. IMHO it should, it is basically plopping a new UI on top of a bunch of stuff done with the Transform tool.
3. Since Repeat's not an Appearance item, it can't be a graphic style. Styles are VERY USEFUL and as I move into bigger, longer projects they have become core to how I approach Illustrator. Y'all keep ignoring this, the Freeform Gradients do not *exist* in my practice because they can't get saved as Styles.
4. no window>repeat? Just a couple of controls in the Properties palette (which is always off for me)
5. It'd be pretty nice to have an option to visually clip the repeated art to hide anything outside of a segment of the canvas based on the repetition settings, have a look at Astute's MirrorMe for an example. (Mirror repeats do this, I see.)
6. Selecting a repeat group and trying to change the repeat type in object>repeat>options does nothing.
7. Having on-canvas controls for these things is nice, though I can't get them to show up reliably when re-selecting an object. They only seem to come up if I am in the Selection tool (not the Direct Selection tool) and specifically select the repeat object?
8. oh man if I make a tile repeat and then accidentally rotate the whole thing with the Free Transform tool while trying to get the on-canvas controls to show up, it expands the whole thing into a giant mess
On a higher level: Maybe the repeat controls should be in the Free Transform tool? It was designed to unify all the transformation tools that existed at the time and there's something about these that feel like they belong with it.
I dunno, as is I can't see it replacing Transform effects (whether applied manually or via Astute's Stylism) or Astute's MirrorMe for me.
I feel like I could also make a case for this being something that should be folded into Window>Pattern Options? Upgrade that to do reflections, rotations, maybe even glides and whatever other cool stuff is hidden behind paying $500 for SymmetryWorks...
