Hi Everyone,
All the effect checkboxes have now been set to ON by default, and are sticky (meaning that if you disable preview, on next launch of Illustrator preview will remain disabled). This functionality now is available in our latest release build – 24.1.1 for Win and 24.1 for Mac which is available worldwide now.
We are working on making all remaining preview check-boxes sticky. Will update this thread when done!

You can update to the latest release using Creative Cloud desktop App: https://helpx.adobe.com/in/creative-cloud/help/creative-cloud-updates.html
Thank you for all the feedback.

God yes, it’s not 2000 any more.
Every window with a Preview checkbox should save the state of its checkbox and come up with the same setting I left it on.

Seriously, just copy over the Photoshop motion blur effect. And maybe some of the other blur effects in PS's effects>blur gallery menu while you're at it?

Sadly, the recent accessibility improvements broke the way this feature works.
If it affected your workflow, please upvote this bug request:
Tab now shifts to toggle buttons in Layers Panel instead of renaming the next layer

yes please
If I had a nickel for every time I saw a new user asking "how do I get a halftone" on various forums I would not have to worry about paying my rent for a few years.

In CC 2019 (latest update 23.0.1), at 100% Zoom 1inch artwork would display at 1inch in physical (Print) size, on any display. If this doesn’t work right for screen design workflows, please use the checkbox Preferences > General > Display Print Size at 100% Zoom, to turn off the feature. Currently this feature works only on primary display, and there are plans of extending this to other attached displays.

Yes. So much yes.
Ideally, IMHO, it would ask the OS what the screen PPI is every time I did view>100%, and work based off of that. I regularly switch between my laptop's "Retina" screen and an old 94ppi 24" external screen.

Hi Everyone, This feature was shipped in Illustrator 2020 version. Please go to Preferences>Selection & Anchor Display > and check ‘Select and unlock objects on canvas’. Enabling this preference will display a lock icon when you select the locked object.

please also include a switch to hide these locks for people whose workflow involves locking a bunch of stuff and don't need to suddenly have half their illustration festooned with little lock icons :)

You can do that by using Graphic Styles panel: https://helpx.adobe.com/illustrator/using/graphic-styles.html

This already exists. Open the Graphic Styles palette and explore.

There's a "redefine graphic style" item in the Appearance palette's menu.

Hi Everyone,
We have added this in January 2021 release (version 25.1).

You can update to the latest release using Creative Cloud desktop App: https://helpx.adobe.com/in/creative-cloud/help/creative-cloud-updates.html

You can hack this up by applying a Transform effect that makes rotated copies to a layer and drawing stuff on it. Draw a huge shape with no fill or stroke, and its center where you want the center of rotation to be.
Ah, I found it: I'd recently installed the Magic Picker plugin. Removing that fixed it.
I guess I should try going back up to 24.0.3 and see if it solves the 'sometimes hangs when opening up a document from disc' problems I've been having. :)
