Toolbar saving and reset. Workspace including keyboard shortcuts.
Nice that you can make your own toolbar. But why didn't you make it like in Photoshop? You can save it to a file, so it would be possible to reset if I make a mistake: then I just reload it. The interface of Photoshop is easier to understand. And when you're working on this: why can't I just reset the toolbar to what has been saved previously?
Also about the interface: nice that I can make my own keyboard shortcuts, but I would like to save that in my workspace, along with my tools and my panels.

Converting CAD into Illustrator
Where I work, we often have to open CAD files into the Illustrator program. We would like to be able to use the existing lines that are presented in a CAD drawing, but when we open them, they are always in little "line segments," rather than full, complete Illustrator lines.
The issue with this is that it slows down the computer, and we are ultimately unable to use the CAD file. Nothing converts into actual "shapes" that we can use, so we end up flattening the image and having to draw over it from scratch to get the image we…

Sign in concomitantly with different accounts
Please, Adobe, remember that what you think is your "user" takes many forms. Please, also remember that we are pulled and pushed by all competing platforms that try desperately to create hindrances in the pursuit of their own ecosystem.
We may need to have two different accounts running on the same computer due to legacy files - programmed obsolescence at it's best, hopefully soon unethical.

color swatch meta fields assignment feature
please add a few extra fields to give greater depth to the swatches
i noticed that you have nicely chosen names like history etc for the theme swatch libraries yet when i go to create a new swatch the panel does not give me the option to attach a meta descriptor tag cloud to the color swatch, think about how this feature works on full images in the bridge. how excellent this would be at the swatch level. we could search for swatches by meta tag, i could see a dedicated program for using a eye dropper tool and assigning…2 votes -
Recent fonts button in character panel
We can disable the recents fonts list in the character panel by making the number of recent fonts 0 in preferences panel. While working it always changes if you need to see recents fonts or not. I suggest to put a "show recent fonts" button the top of the character panel, near the "show recently added", "show activated fonts" buttons. The name of button can be "Show recents fonts". It is that simple. And we again can define the number of recent fonts from preferences panel.

Additional arrow-key nudge values by using key combinations...
I would like the ability to specify multiple nudge values for the arrow keys to be used when certain key combinations are used - so that different nudge distances could be achieved with different arrow key combinations, such as:
Shift+Arrow
Ctrl+Arrow
Alt+Arrow
Ctrl+Shift+Arrow
Ctrl+Alt+Arrow

Non-breaking space (NBSP) should work
AI ignores NBSP when it's places as symbol. 'No break' option is an option but ridiculously hard to be applied quickly. Anyway NBSP should work
42 votesIllustrator Beta 29.2.10 now supports Nonbreaking space (U+00A0).
It can also be added with Type > Insert WhiteSpace Character > Nonbreaking Space command.
Please try this build and see if it works for you as expected.

Advanced 360° circular duplication - side by side distribution
Circular duplication already exists, but not the advanced function that distributes duplications so that they touch each other side by side and the ability to adjust their magnification.

The ability to offset paths multiple times all at once
The ability to offset paths multiple times all at once would be so useful!
Freehand used to have this ability. Comes in handy!
As it is now I need to go in multiple separate times to do this. Makes it awkward and time-consuming.

I am trying to display on Illustrator the diagraming of sentences. Here is an example: Constructing that image requires typing on a pat
See attached file with a screen shot of what "Type on a path" might accomplish if the path were to be made visible on a project for diagramming sentences.

Transform Effect with manually adjustable anchor position
The current Transform Effects has a very limited anchor position setup (that 9 squares in the bottom corner). To make a custom anchor position, we must input "horizontal" and "vertical" value manually which is very ancient.
Rotation tool with Transform Again method is an alternative when creating a mandala thingy, but it if we want to alter the shapes, we have to repeat the rotation and transformation again, which is another ancient stuff.
Adding a simple clicking right on the artboard for placing the anchor point of Transform Effects would be great. We can just set up the anchor point…

Improve resolution of dock panels so they're the same as other Adobe apps
The resolution of the dock panels (Layers, Art boards, Character etc) are all a lot bigger than in other Adobe apps, please make these the same size as the other apps.
I have a second screen with all relevant dock panels opened. If they were the same resolution as PS/ID then more could fit on the screen.1 vote -

The "document will be closed after the save is complete" popup has a button that says "close anyways." That's hillbilly, not English.

escape full screen
Why does the Escape key exit the user from full screen mode in Illustrator. Why does Illustrator not behave like Photoshop?
The F key could cycle through the different screen modes: Full screen, Full Screen with Menu Bar, Full Screen Mode.
Escape should have no effect on this because it's used while drawing or typing.

We want you to make file size light even if we save by "Create PDF compatible file".
Selecting “Create PDF compatible file” saves the file size. We want you to be able to choose a resolution such as "350dpi" or "72dpi", and you can see the preview and reduce the file size.

Insert a new artboard in a specific order position
I usually work with a lot of artboards around 100 per file.
I would like the possibility to enter the number of the position of the artboard!The problem consist when I have a lot or artboards and I create a new one it is the last in artboard panel. Then I need to drag it up to the preferred order position. If it needs to be in the third place I need a lot of scrolling up!

Add middle click to close document
Hello!
It would be convenient if we could middle click on the open document tab (not just the x), to close the document, similarly to like the tabs behave in the any web browser.
It's sometimes inconvenient to aim for the x, and they change location as I close a bunch of documents.

Please make my «Align To:» choice recordable in actions. («Align to:» in the Align palette)

Editable stroke profiles
Add a robust window where you can non-destructively edit the stroke profile (maybe with Bezier handles). This would allow users to taper strokes beyond the good but limited presets in real time.

私はＣＳ３使用時の機能要望をいくつか取り入れて戴いたＣＳ５．５ユーザーです。
ＣＣは経済的負担が大きいので使っていません。
Ｗｉｎ１０にＣＳ５．５を入れましたが、特に問題なく使えています。
ＣＣになってからデザイン業界を除く個人ユーザーが更新しなくなり、
古いバージョンのまま使っているユーザーが多いのは認識されているはずです。
画面デザイン的に繫がりがあるのがＣＳ５．５までで、
ＣＳ６からは大きく変更になりました。
ＯＳが実質Ｗｉｎ１０だけになり、動作環境の面でバージョンアップを迫られているユーザーが多いはずですが、
それでもＣＣは無理と考える人が大多数です。
バージョンアップしたいユーザーが受け入れやすいＣＳ５．５をベースに、
パッケージ（売り切り）版を再販して貰えば、需要がある事は明らかです。
ここで、最低２つの機能改善を行い、ＣＳ５．６としてリリースしてはどうでしょう。
機能改善は、
１．描画編集中などにナビゲーター画面が逐一全画面更新され、データが重いとスマートガイドやコピー＆ペーストなどのキー動作が不安定になる。長い文字の入力編集中は特に酷い。これを極端な話、ナビゲータ画面に付けた「更新」ボタンを押すまで画面更新しなくていいようにする。
２．現状、文字の縁取りが文字の塗りの上になっているが、文字の塗りの下に設定できるようにする。これで一々「文字を全てコピー」「背面ペースト」「縁取り設定」をやらずに済む事になり、データが軽くなり、修正も楽になる。なぜ今までこれが出来ないのか不思議と思える基本的な機能です。1 vote
