Embedded Grayscale image in RGB document becomes transparent in PDF
Embed a grayscale image in an RGB document.
Save as PDF with the Default options.
The image becomes transparent.
In a CMYK document embedded greyscale images become lighter.3 votes -

Having Issues saving on AI 2020 and 2021 version latest updates. The save as feature is not working nor is the export as to save in a different version.

svg repeated symbols are invisible
When attached svg is opened in Adobe Illustrator 2020 - second usages of glyphs (B, 2, 0) are not displayed properly like in attached screenshot.
Is this an issue with original svg (it looks fine in Chrome or Firefox) or Illustrator?1 vote -
Saving operation get cancelled when Save in background is checked.
When Save in the background checkbox is checked, saving the document using the script, gives an error operation was cancelled and the automation process stop. But if uncheck this setting everything works fine. This happens when we show our custom progress bar dialog. So I think progress bar dialog is interfering with the process of saving the document in the background. Could you please look into this issue and see what can be done for this at your end?

Going forward, our goal is to fix as many top User-Voice bugs as possible and as frequently as possible. Given the nature of the fixes, some of the bugs will take a longer time to fix, but we are on it.

Saving issues
I could not save my illustrations as any AI or PDF.
After selecting save as PDF/AI it allows to save but there is no document saved in my targeted folder. Please help, i can only save it as JPEG1 vote -
File name wrong when exporting an Illustrator file as a PNG (it uses the files previous name)
If you have an illustrator file open and resave it with a new name - when you then export that file as a PNG it keeps the name that you previously used - not the new saved name. When exporting I have to manually change the name to be the new name I have just given the file. Very annoying when you have to create numerous files off of one original document which you need to keep exporting as a PNG. Even more annoying is when you have exported the file and it is saving over the previous one you…

SVG EXPORT DOES NOT WORK!!!!
This is not a feature request this is a BUG. SVG import does not work at all.

iCloud drive
Illustrator thinks links are gone when files are being stored in iCloud Drive (even though the cloud version is still in the same folder on my computer). Please allow Illustrator to download linked files in iCloud Drive automatically so I don't have to download and relink manually.

SVGs opened in Illustrator don't include blend modes
I created an SVG in Illustrator that has some layers using the blend mode "overlay". I export out the SVG and it looks perfect. If I open that SVG in Illustrator it turns the blend modes into "normal" instead of "overlay".

Export For Screens rememebers destination location (like 24.1.3 and earlier)
EXPORT FOR SCREENS: In Version 24.2 onwards, Illustrator exports the file to the same folder as the source AI file.
If I change the destination location, it reverts back to the same folder as the source when I reload Illustrator. Before this version, it would remember the destination location. I like to keep a separate folder for all exports, separate from my AI files.

Save as remove filename text before "/" character
If the filename contains "/", the illustrator will save the file with "save as" command removing all the characters before "/", including it.
Example:
Saving with "save as" the file "My first project/version 1.ai" will end in "version 1.ai" on harddisk.Also, the name of the file in document's title bar is replacing the "/" with ":"
"My first project:version 1.ai"And, again, on Save as dialog box, the "Save as:" textbox where the filename is already entered, it shows up like this
"My first project-version 1.ai"macOS Big Sur, Illustrator 25.0.1

Please fix the .ai file saving in the latest version of Adobe Illustator
Here is a screen capture of the Creo file it is saving as even though .ai format has been selected:

ACTION FAILURE!!
modify the action:
If you create an action to save for web with PNG file, Illustrator don't override the save command and nche the action take the same name of the file in the action.try to open 5 or 6 files and create the action:
New action > save for web > save (and stop action)
Now use it on the other opened files...If you have more and more files like me and your client ask you to export the file only in png it's impossible to use this action!
The only way is to save files one…

ein unbekannter Fehler ist aufgetreten
Wenn man .ai abspeichern möchte, kommt plötzlich die Meldung "Ein unbekannter Fehler ist aufgetreten" und die Datei lässt sich nicht mehr abspeichern.

Save/Save As doesn't work in Action
- Make a new document
- Record a new Action for Save (CMD+S) and Save As (Shift+CMD+S), stop Action
- Do something in the document - Draw the rectangle for example
- Play Save/Save As Action
- Close the document (Attention!!! No warning about Save Changes!!!)
- Open the document
Result: Opened document doesn't contain the rectangle.
That means nothing happened with this document while Play ActionsIllustrator ver. 24.0.2
It is the critical issue and my suggestion to downgrade Illustrator to 24.0.1, if you use "Save/Save as" and "Close" commands in Actions in your work12 votesHi

Illustrator not deleting .tmp files after upgrades to Catalina
We've recently started upgrading our users to Catalina, and since then multiple people have reported Illustrator is creating .tmp files that can't be deleted. We've turned off Save in Background, Export in Background, optimize saving for slow networks, and Saving Cloud documents. The issue seems to be intermittent, we haven't been able to find a pattern.
When it makes these files, they can't be deleted in Finder.

Illustrator 2021Seit dem letzten Update stoppt Illustrator das Speichern (Cmd+S) ohne jegliche Warnung, wenn man vor Ende des Speichervorgangs "Speichern unter" (cmd+shift+S) wählt.
Das ist wahnsinnig riskant, da man im Grunde IMMER gleich nach dem Speichern ein PDF mit "Speichern unter" erzeugt. Ich habe mittlerweile an die 10 Dateien so verloren... bis mir der Fehler aufgefallen ist.

Ai 2021, Windows: Opened SVG image element with base64 data is not shown.
The codepen demonstration here (https://codepen.io/VHall/pen/BrdwLz) is supposed to download an SVG file which wil l show the exact same image as seen in the browser when opened in Illustrator. Using Ai version 2020, the opened SVG shows the correct background image with the logo. However, opening in Ai 2021 does not show the image. The element not rendered starts with: "<image overflow="visible" width="1200" height="750" xlink:href="data:image/png;base64"

Report Font Bug Error
ERROR: Creating a design/file using a a font, when saved and previewed in AI and or in another program. The Font changes completely.
