Copy and paste doesn't always work
I've been experiencing problems with Illustrator. When I copy an object with the ctrl + c button and try to paste them it randomly doesn't work.
The problem is that I can't replicate it on command. At first I thought it had something to do with the laptop that I used, but it also happens on a freshly installed desktop.
My version of Illustrator is 22.0.1
I also checked the copy paste functions under the edit tab, and when I copied something it didn't show the ability to paste it. It could also only have something to do with copying files.
Please get in touch with us at any of the other support channels – https://helpx.adobe.com/support.html . Since this is not a generic issue that we can reproduce at our end, we will need someone to look into your machine to figure out what is going on here.

Copy paste does not work! Please help!
Update on this @Adobe please? This has been going on for far too long now.
I have the same issue. It will not copy paste text or objects even with in Illustrator. It randomly stops working and randomly starts working. A reboot is not the answer either (program or system). This is crazy! I use the copy paste function in my job all the time exp. for text from other people. I really expect more from Adobe.

Our admin doesnt know actual issue. But they know how to respond that's quite genius saying its genric for this case.

@Admin I still get the issue. I press ctrl + c many times. Each time i press ctrl + c program glithes for sec.
But Adobe Admin says this is generic issue. Are u even a designer?? or a common user??
I also believe that it is a generic issue, we started noticing it at my studio around the beginning of 2018, after updating Illustrator to the latest version at that time.
Our whole studio of 5 workstations (Windows 10 64bit & Adobe CC 2019 updated to the latest stable versions, Intel i7 & AMD Threadripper processors, 32 GB of RAM, NVIDIA GTX graphics cards) is experiencing these issues very often. Back in January 2018 we were using Windows 8.1 64bit - the problem was also there.
There is no particular way to reproduce the problem - every once in a while, pressing Ctrl+C does not move the copied object to the clipboard, "Paste" in "Edit" menu is greyed out, as Rod Sawatsky explained in March 2018.
Please fix it, this is extremely frustrating and it has been like this for MORE THAN A YEAR AND A HALF. No other software behaves this way, we are sure this is solely an Illustrator issue.

IT IS a generic issue. I'm using win10 and CS5.1 and the overall success rate of copy&paste is below 10%.

Ashutosh this is a generic issue its happen to 2 of my computers on cc
Version 22.1 on an iMac running 10.13.4, copy from Photoshop into Illustrator doesn't work. It does work on my MacBook Pro with the same versions. I can copy and paste between Illustrator documents. This is definitely maddening!
I have the same frustrating issue and I use win10 and CC 2018
I also am having this problem. Using Adobe CC 2018 on Windows 10.
