Unable to retain the last active artboard on switching from another file
This is related to this issue here, though I'm unable to vote or comment on it. So I'm reposting this issue, because it's still annoying.
When I ⌘+Tilde (~), on certain documents (the setting seems to be saved to a document), it automatically Fits Artboard to Screen on the last artboard of the document. It is confusing, and annoying, and interrupts workflows where I need to move quickly between artboards. Please fix this.
I am happy to share that we have fixed this bug in our latest release – 23.0.6 which is available worldwide now.
Going forward, our goal is to fix as many top User-Voice bugs as possible and as frequently as possible. Given the nature of the fixes, some of the bugs will take a longer time to fix, but we are on it.
You can update to the latest release using Creative Cloud desktop App: https://helpx.adobe.com/in/creative-cloud/help/creative-cloud-updates.html
Thank you for all the feedback. Keep it coming!

This has been annoying me so much recently.
Preferences>Selection & Anchor Display --- and turning off "Zoom to Selection" did fix it :) thanks so much!

Super - wait for it - annoying.
Matt Prina thanks for that: 👉Preferences>Selection & Anchor Display --- and turning off "Zoom to Selection" 💪If you like zoom to selection, you can use as alternative "alt + scroll" to element.
I hope to see it fixed soon.

Thanks for looking into this. Looking forward to seeing some progress on squashing this bug.

Yeah, I guess it goes without saying at this point but this is super annoying. Hope to see it fixed in the next update. If anyone else missed it you can temporarily fix the issue by going into --- Preferences>Selection & Anchor Display --- and turning off "Zoom to Selection"... but I like zoom to selection. :(
Please address this issue soon. I work professionally as many people here switching between files and art boards. This random zoom is very disruptive to overall workflow especially when making multiple file updates in a row.
I also just started having this issue within the last few weeks. VERY inconvenient to workflow.
Has this been resolved yet?

Yep, same **** happening to me now
Yup, this is still an issue that I'm experiencing (I'm the original poster). I still haven't been able to find a pattern for why Illustrator acts this way.
This bug as been around for MONTHS, and NOTHING has been done about it. Please fix or at the very least provide an update. It is incredibly irritating.

This is still an issue, and incredibly frustrating!
I'm also experiencing this issue and it's incredibly frustrating. It really slows my workflow since I'm constantly switching between files and artboards.
