  1. Please remove the "The document [name] is currently getting saved. It will be closed after the save is complete." dialog

    Or at least make that optional. It's a common practice to Command-S, Command-W, and now it's an extra step to hit "ok". If you don't click okay (or press enter), it just hangs there, not doing anything until you get rid of the dialog.

    Either make the dialog optional, or handle it like InDesign, where the dialog disappears when the file is saved and then the window closes.

    Hi Everyone,

    Thanks for the feedback. Want to give an update that we have removed the dialog, and the new experience is available in our latest release build – 24.1.1 for Win and 24.1 for Mac which is available worldwide now, in case you want to give it a try. Now, there will be no blocking message, we will show a “soft message” which will auto-dismiss .

  2. No me permite guardar el archivo como pdf o imagen solo guarda como Ai

    Al momento de querer guardar cualquier archivo en cualquier formato solo se forma un documento sin temporal .tmp ya he intentado generar un archivo nuevo y guardarlo desde ese y tampoco ha funcionado la versión que manejo es Adobe Illustrator 2021 25.0.1 simultaneamente tengo la versión 2018 y no me da problemas

  5. cmd+shift+n doesn't create new folder in Finder-Save-Dialouge anymore after last update

    When you save a file (save as, save, save copy, ...) you can not create a new folder via cmd+shift+n anymore after the latest 24.0.1 "bug fix update" which I received today.

    Please fix this again!

    I am happy to share that we have fixed this bug in our latest release – 24.1.1 for Win and 24.1 for Mac which is available worldwide now.

    Going forward, our goal is to fix as many top User-Voice bugs as possible and as frequently as possible. Given the nature of the fixes, some of the bugs will take a longer time to fix, but we are on it.

  6. Illustrator won't replace existing PNG file; creates copy and adds "-01" to filename

    When I update an Illustrator file and wish to export/replace the previous PNG file, Illustrator asks me if I would like to replace the existing file. I click "Replace". However, the result is a new file with "-01" added to the end of the file name. The old version still exists. Why bother asking me if I want to replace it if it insists on creating a copy?

  7. "Save" action aborted by a subsequent "Save as" action

    I'm using Version 25.0 on a Mac with Catalina OS (10.15.7). In all past versions of Illustrator, once you had initiated a "Save", nothing could interrupt that. Now, saves are both slower and interruptible. If I try to "Save" my .AI file, then do my "Save as low-res PDF" action to export a version for clients, the "Save as low-res PDF" action will cancel the "Save" if it's not yet complete. And there is no indication that this has happened. This means my AI file will revert to the old version without my knowledge, while the low-res PDF will be…

  8. Unwanted bounding box

    I'm working on a
    MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2015)
    Processor 2,2 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7
    Memory 16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
    Graphics Intel Iris Pro 1536 MB

    Two bounding boxes appear in my .ai file they wouldn't have bothered me if it weren't for the fact that they distort the design on export.

  9. AI files opening as old versions

    Illustrator is intermittently not properly saving my files and is opening old versions of the AI file.

    This is my workflow:

    Create design and save AI file. Save PDF file and send to client. Receive amends, open AI file and amend + save. Save PDF file and send to client.

    Repeat until the design is approved.

    At this point I open the AI file and prepare the print files for production.

    However, the AI file is opening as an older version and does not have the latest amends saved. This is costing us £100s in incorrectly manufactured items.

  10. SVG Import damaged

    Windows 10 latest, Illustrator 25.2
    Importing a Svg vector city map, the street names are not rendered any more. The file works perfect in Inkscape and any Browser, but since some versions of Illustrator they are gone. Installing the latest available 24.3 version, the problem persists.
    Is there a download option for older versions since 24.3, since some versions before it worked over years.
    File upload doesn't seem to work here neither...

  11. Illustrator impossible d'enregistrer des fichiers sur un NAS Synology

    Bonjour,
    Depuis quelques temps, je ne peux pas enregistrer mes fichiers .ai sans qu'Illustrator ne créé de fichiers .tmp ou .ai en les renommant "Acr...."
    Je ne peux pas toujours enregistrer les modifications effectuées dans mes fichiers. Apparemment c'est encore pire si j'utilise un script d'action.
    En local aucun problème. Que faire s'il vous plaît ?

  12. Cannot open any .ai file

    Windows 10 64-bit (latest update) and Illustrator v 25.1
    Opening a file from Explorer and with [File] > [Open...], yet the Illustrator application does not react. I also cannot open files that are stored in the cloud. There is no error, the app is just not responding, yet not crashing.

    Update: The issue is not with the files that I'm trying to open. They aren't corrupt or anything. I cannot even create a new project file. Templates wont load either. The hands-on tutorial do not start, too.

  13. place lets me bring image in but then after resizing image it disappears

    Windows 10 latest build, CC latest build, Illustrator latest build. Using File->Place with a .jpg brings the image in and allows me to place it in the workspace, but when I resize it and try to move it to the artboard the image disappears.

  14. Illustrator not opening Fusion 360 DXFs after 25.0.1

    The primary reason I use Illustrator (on my Intel Mac running Big Sur) is to further process the DXFs generated by Fusion 360 and prepare them for laser cutting. Recently, illustrator started opening these files as blank, even though online viewers display them just fine. According to internet research, this should have been fixed in version 25.0.1. However, after updating and reinstalling illustrator the issue persists. This is incredibly frustrating as my laser has been unused for a number of weeks as I can’t prepare files. Please fix!

  15. Grid Repeat becomes Non-Native Art after exiting and reopening the file .

    Windows 10 OS and Latest version of Illustrator (April 19th, 2021).

    I created a grid repeat of a object group. Then saved the file. Then closed the file. Upon reopening the file the grid repeat has become a non-native art object which I cannot edit.

    The result was utter frustration.

  16. Illustrator reverts back to Style Elements instead of Presentation Attributes for svg

    BUG:

    Steps to reproduce:

    1. Open an SVG file.
    2. Save as; in the dialogue for CSS Properties select <Presentation Attributes>
    3. Continue working on the file, specifically by changing the art board size and other resizing activities.
    4. Save the file

    Expected:
    I expect that opening the file in a text editor will show that presentation attributes are used, such as fill=none

    Actual behaviour:
    The file now contains style elements plus layer names that were removed have been named to Layer 1

  17. DWG file won't display after Open... in Ai

    Want to import and edit a DWG drawing that functions perfectly on Autodesk website file preview page. (I don't use Autodesk.)
    All 67 layers and hundreds of sub-layers are listed on Layers panel and selected but Ai shows only a blank white page.
    System is Dell AW17 laptop with nVidia 1070 graphics; Ai reports Intel 530 graphics card 'unsupported driver' on startup but I am not using it; Windows 10 and Ai fully up to date

  18. Export for screens

    I just realised that "Asset Export" doesn't retain the CMYK colour mode. This is a huge problem. All the time I've been exporting the PDF's from my CMYK working colour mode, only to discover that my PDF's have been converted to RGB instead. Why one earth do you do this?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Curse you Adobe!!

    If you don't include the ability to export files as CMYK from Asset Export, then make the darn PDF, JPG, and SVG easier to export!!!!!!!!!

    Why the heck do you have to make things so **** difficult for your users?! I don't understand you!!!!!

  19. Reading SVG does not respect dominant-baseline="middle" attribute

    For <text> elements

    dominant-baseline="hanging" and dominant-baseline="baseline" are parsed correctly, with text aligned on top and bottom, respectively.

    But dominant-baseline="middle" is not respected, and is instead rendered as dominant-baseline="baseline".

    This produces misaligned text, which is displayed aligned normally by Edge, Firefox, Chrome.

  20. Latest Version just quits on its own

    Luckily I was in front of my computer as it happened so I could save the current files that were open but without needing an update to Illustrator or the OS, the app suddenly just started a quit sequence on its own.
    OS is Mac 11.2 Big Sur. Illustrator Version: 25.1
