Text cursor/text selection is invisible when inside group, and getting text cursor is jittery at best.
The text cursor and text highlight selection don't appear when inside grouped text. Also getting the text cursor vs the selection cursor is very jittery. I'm running ai 25.0.1 on a 2017, 5K iMac, os Big Sur 11.1. I've attached videos of the poor functionality.

Corrupt rendering of font Aktiv Grotesk Condensed Light
Our font Aktiv Grotesk Condensed Light has weird rendering artifacts in the glyphs "C", "b" and "p", but only on macOS 11.5.1 and Illustrator 25.4.1 (InDesign on the same platform is fine; on Windows, both are fine). See screenshot. Can't attach the font here so I'm sending it to Josh Hadley at Adobe.

Area text corrupted on transfer from Mac to Windows
When an .ai document containing area text is saved in CC2020 or 2021 on Mac, and that document is then opened in CC2020 or 2021 on Windows, the area text gets broken (i.e. it's no longer a single run of text). We are having to save as legacy and stick to 2019 on Windows to get around it.
The same problem may apply from Windows to Mac, but I haven't checked it.1 vote -

Coloured Fonts: Copied text unintentionally becomes path objects
In AI 25.3.1 (macOS 10.14.6), when I copy a text written in a coloured font in the same document or in another document, then immediately or after a few copy-paste actions the editable text unintentionally becomes a path object. Example with the coloured font "Gilbert" attached.

Text on path gets selected when you marquee over empty space
When I need to select something under the arc, like it’s shown in the GIF attached, I can use marquee and the the type object gets selected.
Why?
Did I click the path? No.
Did I click the text? No.
That’s just the 'Illustrator’s way'. Can you make an option to disable this nonsense?16 votes -
Type on path shifting placement
I've updated to Illustrator 2021 (version 25.2.2), now when I open files from the 2020 version of Ai, type that was sitting on a curved path is now shifting all over the place. For example in the image attached the type should be full displayed and centres. This is happening on many files and is a major issue! This needs fixing!

Orator fonts specifically are not loading which my entire company branding materials use. I need a resolution ASAP!!!

Error when pasting if one symbol is built with symbol font
I'm working with maps in Illustrator and for a long time copying and pasting text inside an illustrator document has been acting weird. Each time I paste, the text is being pasted, but also added to the text is one or a few letters from a symbol font. It's like when copying text, it also copies something else.

日本語入力時に英数キーで確定されます
macOS Hi Sierra/Catalina/Big Sur
Adobe Illustrator CC2017〜2021（それ以前の可能性も有）Macには独自の日本語テキスト入力のシステムがあります。
入力した文字を確定する前に「英数キー」を2度連打すると
半角アルファベットに変換されます。
「かなキー」を2度連打すると再変換することができます。CS5までのIllustratorとすべてのPhotoshopではこのシステムが有効です。
しかし、IllustratorCCでは「英数キー」「かなキー」での
変換ができません。
日本語を入力中に「英数キー」を押すと変換されず確定されます。私はMacOS X10.3から長くこのシステムに慣れているので

Numbers disappear in text box when creating outlined text
On illustrator CC 2020 updated windows 10

Going forward, our goal is to fix as many top User-Voice bugs as possible and as frequently as possible. Given the nature of the fixes, some of the bugs will take a longer time to fix, but we are on it.

Set the leading with arrows occasionally strip fractional widths
When using the arrows to adjust the leading on type with fractional leading (e.g. 29.95) the period is stripped out and a new leading is the same numeral amount just without the period (e.g. 2995)

Unwanted horizontal text scaling
Illustrator will apply horizontal scaling to text when I am working on different part of the document. This even happens to text that is on a hidden layer. So far I have failed to "catch Illustrator in the act" so can't say what leads up to it happening. I just look at the text and it is magically scaled! Bah!

Auto Spell Check not working when ai file is converted to newer version
I noticed when an older .ai file version (ex. CS4) is converted to a newer version (illustrator 2020) the auto spell check will not work on text and text boxes. The only way I found to fix this is draw a new text box and copy the text from the old box to the new one.

Bug in Illustrator v 25.2.1 - Under Type > Font. Font menu option inactive
Upon clicking the Type>Font menu option, nothing happens. Used to bring up list of fonts. Apparently, the person responsible for menu functionality wasn't thorough enough to include it the latest update.
Using Windows 10 Pro, OS Build 19042.928

eyedropper leading 0.1
I have noticed that, in the last few updates to Illustrator, if I copy the type attributes from one text box to another using the eyedropper tool that the leading amount does not get copied. Instead, it gets set to 0.1 -- which really negates the utility of coping type attributes through the eyedropper.

Crashes whenever I use the Type tool
Illustrator 2021 is crashing whenever I draw a text box, or attempt to select a the text box. I get the greyed out 'not responding' and either have to force close the programme or it crashes.
Occasionally after 5 mins or so the grey screen and 'not responding' will disappear and I am able to draw a text box, however I am unable to type in it. VERY ANNOYING! My Illustrator version is up to date, using a PC, I have tried closing all other applications and restarting my machine.

can't use the hand tool while using type tool anymore
If you're using the type tool, you used to be able to hit the command key, then press the space bar to bring up the hand tool to move the canvas around without affecting the type. It's worked this way for years and years. Now, however, when you bring up the hand tool while type is selected, the space bar adds spaces while the hand tool is also operating. Please fix this!

1 voteCmd/Ctrl + Space does not enable the Pan tool, it enables the Zoom tool. But Alt/Opt now does enable the Pan while editing a text — use this instead.
