I am not happy with the "solution" of turning off a very useful option for me (GPU performance). The zooming feature and speed is a lot better. I have a very recent and maxed out imac 2020 and no, for me, having to turn off such a unseful feature is not a viable solution. Pretty upset with the stability of the latest version of Illustrator.

The solution noted here has worked for me since last May...!

My version 24.2.1 crashes at launch. There is no option to select "OK" to get Problem Report For Adobe Illustrator - only "Send to Apple."

I have the same problem - I updated to version 24.2.1 and it functioned for a few days, and now crashes at launch. I uninstalled it and re-installed but the same thing happens. Version 23.1.1 functions but of course I can not open any version 24.2.1 files. I am in the middle of a large project and deadlines so the matter is serious.

Having much the same problem, 2015 Macbook Air and MOjave. Generally mine crashes most frequently when I'm drawing with bezier curves. About every 20 minutes. Symptoms similar to others on this page - menus disappear, black desktop, then eventually black screen .

I thought I was the only one (you're never the only one lol)

I updated (there is no recent update) and we still experience a freeze, and then everything around the screen is black, I can't even access other things I have open so I just shutdown the MacBook

I'll try and get a screenshot of it next time but it's making me mad and I don't wanna break anything (else)

I have been having crashes in illustrator as well, although I have been doing very simple moves or using simple tools like: moving a shape, selecting text).
I am using MacOS version 10.13.6

The page completely freezes and I cant even access any option from the main mac toolbar, I would have to force shut down the whole computer. This happened three times for three days after a short usage of the software

Thank you for the link. So I don't always get this "crash report for Adobe Illustrator" screen after a forced shutdown. Would that be enough if I only send " sudo sysdiagnose " report for now?

Ever since "upgrading" to Illustrator version 24, I have been experiencing non-stop crashing, forcing me to constantly re-boot the mac to make s l o w progress in completing needed figure.

For this I pay ~$30/month for the privilege of using Illustrator v24. Note that there never a problem with Illustrator 2018 (at least for me).
