Saving to Creative Cloud is Changing My Patterns
This has to do with repeating patterns. I'm using Adobe Illustrator 2021, desktop.
Attached is a picture of 2 circles on a background (shield your eyes, it isn't pretty :-)). When I make the pattern - in this case, the circles were drawn with the blob brush - the inside of the 2 circles is empty and we can all see the background. It's a ring. When I pull that pattern out of swatches, however, it will color in that background. In this one, it's black. It changes depending on the pattern and the colors I'm using. And it is not consistent. Sometimes it happens, sometimes it doesn't, and sometimes it happens to just some motifs in a design and not others.
After countless tries to figure out what it is, it does appear to be that patterns saved to Adobe's Creative Cloud will have this happen, whereas if I save it to my computer, it will not. Thank you for the help!
I am happy to share that we have fixed this bug in our latest release – 26.1.0 which is available worldwide now.
Going forward, our goal is to fix as many top User-Voice bugs as possible and as frequently as possible. Given the nature of the fixes, some of the bugs will take a longer time to fix, but we are on it.
You can update to the latest release using Creative Cloud desktop App: https://helpx.adobe.com/in/creative-cloud/help/creative-cloud-updates.html
Thank you for all the feedback. Keep it coming!

I'm late replying here, but thank you so much for resolving this! I really have to thank Ton, he stuck with me and then led me in the proper directions for even more help. Egor, too, for then taking it from Ton. I wish other companies followed through on things like this the way Adobe did. Thanks again to everyone involved.

HI Egor, HI Ton,
This is the first time I've shared a video online, so I hope it's appropriate and helpful. If not, please let me know and I'll figure out a different way. I video-taped the process on Loom.
Ok, here goes:

Egor and Ton, thank you so much! I have been trying to record a video of the issue but having a heck of a time - so Egor, you got Ton's example ok? Do you still need a recording from me, too? I was away from the computer this week but will be around this weekend. Seriously, thank you so much for this help. It's exciting :-). I could still work on the recording in case you need it. I'm not sure if Ton's note that my yellow ring color problem is included in all of this or not.

There you go! Got it, can reproduce. Thanks a lot for the patience and the effort to pin this down.

Egor, you probably opened the .ai file, which does not have the problem. It is the .aic Cloud file that shows the problem after saving, closing and reopening.

Casey, yes, I'd like to have your file too. Please record a video of you trying, because it feels like a very narrow bug (but crucial anyway).

Ton, I tried to drag the pattern swatch to the artboard and it HAS a hole. If I change winding rules myself, it still has it.
I think that it can be related to Libraries in particular... or no. You should record a small video that shows all the steps required to reproduce it at your side. So far I fail :( -

Casey, I changed some permissions I had not seen, on the cloud file. Your Yellow ring color problem looks like another problem.

Thank you for sharing a link to your pattern, Ton. I couldn't access the first one but I could the 2nd.
I was looking at my file of the yellow rings on red background again, and here is another variation of what happens: I will drag a ring into swatches, but this time it will change color as it goes IN to swatches. So now it's a little yellow ring with a black center on red background, and when when I use it as a fill anywhere, it's recolored. But when I pull it out - it is the original color! I've seen that happen a few times, but I'd forgotten about it. If you still want a file, Egor, just let me know. Would I send you my file from Ai? But maybe Ton's is all you need. -

Sure Egor, try dragging the star pattern swatch in these files from the Swatches panel to the artboard and see the difference. Same file just saved different.
Here is the Cloud .aic file

Wow, this is something I know nothing about. Casey (or Ton) — can you share the file with the example of such an artwork, to test?

It is a repeatable bug. Dragging them from the Swatches panel back to the artboard in a cloud document (when the cloud doc is closed and reopened) seems to mess up the winding rules of the compound path (check the attributes panel with expanded options).
