Curved paths not honouring guide styles / Guides are not dotted
When converting artwork to guides, anything that has a curved path does not show the guide style set up in preferences. In my case I have guides set up as a dashed line with a light grey colour. What I'm seeing is a solid black line. Happens in AI 29.6.1 and the beta 29.7 88. Sample shows two shapes converted to guides but the ellipse remains as a solid black line. Using MacOS 14.7.6.

Works as expected in Beta 30.0.0.114.
Please test the fix to make sure it’s ready to be pushed into the general build.

Not fixed in the Beta as well :( I raised this twice with the team, but it feels like the priority is too low for this one. I’ll do it again, but this is as much I can do. @Karsten, if you know other designers who suffer from this bug, please ask them to upvote this — the threshold is usually 10 votes.

@Egor Chistyakov You confirmed this bug three months ago, yet it remains unresolved in the current version. During this time, we have paid Adobe approximately 550 USD for our two accounts.
Does Adobe intend to help people who pay their profits?

Illustrator "guides" are displayed differently for curved versus straight lines. Curved lines are appearing solid and straight lines dotted. My "guide" preferences are set to "dotted" for everything. Any ideas?

We're at beta 30.0 4 and still not addressed. Having to use v28.7.9 until this is fixed.

OS: 15.5 Ai Version: 29.7.1 (2025).
This applies to all files.
When the option to select guide type (in preferences) is selected as dotted lines the lines do not become dotted. This means it is very distracting when trying to use guidelines as they look the same as the artwork.
Essentially, switching to "dotted line" for guides just doesn't work. -
I confirm this. Happens only with curved paths and only with GPU Preview mode.

Wow. Doesn’t happen for me, a dotted guide stays dotted...
Cant you share a test file, please, just in case? Are you on 29.6? Does it behave the same in Beta 29.7.0.23? -

All of a sudden, any path that is rounded makes a solid guideline and any straight path makes a dotted guide.
Is this new?
FYI, I have always set my guides to be dotted lines.
