Color Mixer in Control and Properties panels gets broken after using Tab
The Color Mixer in Properties and Control works oddly. Here, I try to navigate my fields with Tab, and then drag one slider — boom, it all breaks: sliders vanish, active fields become visually inactive, closing it becomes very hard...
I feel like it started happening when the generative virus put its tendrils into Ai.
The team is able to reproduce this bug and is working on the fix

Have this issue as well. just did the update for 30.0 version that was available even thought i already had 30.0 and its still an issue. Also having major issue with colors in artwork not showing what the CMYK values are when selected. Along with text being white instead of black when i copy it in to a file from somewhere else, illustrator says its black but the text will actually be white...

After turning on “Real-time Drawing and Editing” in Preferences and restarting Illustrator, the issue temporarily disappeared. However, another problem started occurring occasionally: values entered in the Color panel no longer applied to the selected object.
I would prefer to keep “Real-time Drawing and Editing” turned off.

The issue persists in version 30.0 .

I have this issue too.
When trying to navigate between the C, M, Y, K value fields using the Tab key, the panel simply collapses:The color temporarily disappears;
The sliders disappear;
And the active field no longer looks active.
The only way to continue is to enter a value, press Enter, then click manually on the next field, enter the value again, press Enter... and so on.
In other words, it’s impossible to use the Tab key normally, which makes color editing much slower and more confusing.It remains the same with the 30.0 update.

Hello
I've been having an issue using the 'Color' palette.
If I want to change the CMYK values on a colour in the 'Color' window and change the C value, then tab to M and change that, when I tab to Y the whole set of percentage values goes blank and the color preview has a question mark.
See attached screen recording.
I'm using a Mac Studio M2 Max with 32Gb RAM, Mac OS Sequoia 15.7.1, and Illustrator 29.8.2. Seems to happen with any file.
Regards
Simon

Commenting that on version 29.8.2 on Windows 11 this issue is occurring for me. Turning on recent colors did not fix this from happening.

Chris, the inner scaffolding that keeps this ship afloat is modular, and sometimes patches don’t hold well together with other changes... I can’t tell for sure. And sometimes it’s just team being distracted — being people... :(

it's curious, Egor, the beta version got this problem months ago, but then was fixed; I don't understand why the stable version still got the same issue, it's annoying!

I did have Recent Colors turned off (redundant and annoying), but turning them back on did not fix the issue for me.

I just posted this problem to adobe community. I also think I tracked the issue. If you turned off the show recent color (because its annoying) I get the funky issue going on when I try and tab and change color percentages. As soon as I turned it back on and restarted it now works normal for me.

Kris, I am seeing differences.
I can’t reproduce your bug, but I can still do mine.
Mine requires fiddling with a slider, yours is just about tabbing.
The problem I have is with the dropdown Color only, yours is about the full panel.
They are definitely relatives! -

That link you shared — that was yours from one month ago? That's the exact same issue I'm seeing.

Kris, this doesn’t happen to me now, on Windows, both in the latest Beta and 29.7.1, but I recall this bug...
What build are you using today?Please also check this one:

When I try to enter numerical values into the Color panel, I can enter the first and sometimes the second number, but when I tab over or click on the next field, all of the fields go blank and the cursor switches back to the first field.
