2. Appearance of Black Feature Not Working in Illustrator CC 2019

   The "Appearance of Black" feature is not working after installing Illustrator CC 2019. I've tried to disable and re-enable the feature, however all blacks appear as rich black now. The document shown in the attached screenshot is in CMYK color mode. The black box on the left is 100% K only, the box to the right is C: 60%, M: 50%, Y: 50%, and K: 100%.

   Previously 100% process black only would display as shown in the preferences window. I've tried to open an old document and create a new CMYK color mode document, however the 100% K looks rich black.

   MacOS: 10.14
   Illustrator: 23.0

   Please check if Color Settings is set to “Emulate Adobe Illustrator 6.0”, If it is then change it to “North America General Purpose 2”.

4. Unable to click on colour swatches in colour guide panel with Wacom Intuos pen

   It has been a couple of years now, and I still can't click on the swatches in the Colour Guide panel using my Wacom Intuos Pro Pen. It works fine if I'm using the touch setting to select the colour swatch but the pen will not allow me to select a swatch. I 3 pens and none of them allow me to do this. This issue has been ongoing with this tablet and pen and my previous one. I can't get a straight answer from Wacom or Adobe, they both claim it is the other that is at fault. No update to either computer or tablet has made any difference to this issue. I'm running all the latest software on brand new computers using High Sierra 10.13.5. Machine Imac Retina 5K, 27 inch, 2017 3.8ghz intel core i5, Radeon Pro 580 8192 MB, 40 GB 2400 MHz DDR4. But in listing all that it doesn't work on my Macbook Pro 17 Inch 2011 either or my Macbook Air. Is this a bug other people are having an issue with...it must be?!

6. Adobe Color CC "Adobe Servers not available" [Bug]

   Unfortunately I can't open the expore-rider of adobe color cc when signed in.
   Everything works perfectly, when I'm visiting the webpage https://color.adobe.com as a guest. But when I sign in, which is required to perform any actions, the above mentioned error occures.
   The "Create" and the "My Themes" riders work still perfectly when signed in.
   I've tried it under Edge/Chrome and Firefox. Besides Firefox none of the browsers has Addons installed. I'm running a Windows 10 Machine.

8. Dropdown menu cut off

   When trying to interact with the drop down menus those that are particularly long (and by that I mean it takes up the whole length of the screen) I can't access any features below the cut off. The most problematic instance of this phenomenon is in Windows drop-down because it cuts off at Pathfinder. The list goes in alphabetical order which means I can no longer access my swatch panel. I can't add it to me workspace. This is the same for all work panels after pathfinder; symbols, stroke, transparency, and so on.

   As stated in a comment, this can happen on Windows if the taskbar is docked at the top. If this is something that happens for you too — pleased add a vote and comment.

9. New swatch is NOT global by default

   1. Use the color panel to customize a fill or stroke color.
   2. Drag the fill or stroke box into the body of the Swatches panel to create a swatch for the color.

12. Deleting colors from Swatches panel crashes Illustrator

    In Illustrator 2026, 30.0, on a Mac running 15.6.1, any time I go to delete a swatch, any swatch, any number of swatches, it immediately crashes the program. I reset preferences and nothing changed...still crashes. Started a new file in case there was something going on with the old one, still crashes.

13. Illustrator forgets to undo the document color mode switch

    Here’s a simple test.
    1. Create and RGB-based document — the title says 'RGB'
    2. Draw something
    3. Change the color mode of the document into CMYK — the tab’s title changes accordingly (notice the History displays the generic 'Undo' instead of expected 'Document color mode CMYK')
    4. Draw something else again
    5. Start undoing steps, either with Cmd/Ctrl+Z or with the History panel. When you reach up the first object drawn, the tab’s title should display RGB — but it still says CMYK! ...and if you hover over the title, the hint appears saying it’s RGB (or not!) ...and if you draw something after this, it stays CMYK now. Ai forgets the document was an RGB one and never undoes it!

    If I try this in an older version, without History in it, like CC2017 — it works as expected.

    Here’s a simple test.

    バージョン30.0で拡大縮小ツールで「パターンの変形」のみを行おうとした際、ダイアログ上で「オブジェクトの変形」「パターンの変形」の両方のチェックが入った状態（もしくはオブジェクトの変形からパターンの変形に変更）から、「オブジェクトの変形」のチェックを外して「パターンの変形」のチェックのみにして実行するとパターンの変形が何度やっても実行されない。（最初から「パターンの変形」のみにチェックが入っていた場合のみパターンの変形が実行される）
    場合によっては、その後のオブジェクトの拡大縮小も挙動がおかしくなるので再起動が必要になる。
    なお、他の変形ツールに関しては未確認。

15. 2026 converted RGB file to CMYK, won't go back

    Got a new computer, downloaded Illustrator vs 2026, and signed in to Illustrator. I opened a file, started working on it, and noticed all my colors in the color panel were CMYK. The overall color setting was still RGB in the title at the top, and under color settings. Not only was everything in the color panel CMYK, but all of the options to change that were greyed out. Somehow, opening up a 2025 file in 2026 corrupted my color setting at the panel level and wouldn't let me change them back. I haven't disassembled my old PC, so I pulled up my file in Illustrator 2025, and the colors were RGB at all levels. It was not corrupted on my old setup.

    I am not sure if the bug happened because I didn't upgrade my old Adobe Illustrator on my old computer, and then just started opening files in Adobe Illustrator 2026, so my files didn't get updated to the new software version, or what is happening. This is something that you need to look into, though.

    *I am giggling that I am the only one complaining about my files getting changed to CMYK instead of RGB?

    So I fixed this piece of artwork by creating a new RGB file and copying and pasting my artwork into that new file. No need for anyone to tell me how to fix the problem, but I shouldn't have to continue to copy and paste all my artwork from the old PC to new RGB files because ADOBE has a BUG! Bugs need to be fixed completely!

I deleted my last account on Adobe forums because I got attacked and told I wasn't good enough to be a designer because I asked a question on how to do something after a big update and change (I had just moved from a 2004 version to Creative Suite when it went to subscription, and things were different). If you are that kind of person, your opinion is none of my business, and I will actively work to get you banned if you choose violence. I am no longer a walk-away type of person.

17. Fehler bei Bildern beim Ändern vom Dokumentfarbmodus RGB <=> CMYK (Bilder gehen kaput)

    System: Windows 11 Pro, Illustrator 29.8.1

    Ich habe folgendes Problem:
    Ab und zu erstelle ich ein Plakat in A3 im CMYK-Modus für den Druck und benötige das identische Layout zusätzlich für eine Stele im RGB-Modus. Bisher konnte ich die Layoutinhalte aus dem CMYK-Dokument einfach kopieren und in ein RGB-Dokument einfügen – das funktionierte problemlos. Seit einiger Zeit jedoch werden die verknüpften Bilder dabei zerstört:

    • teilweise werden sie komplett schwarz,
    • teilweise stark verfärbt,
    • teilweise nur in Fragmenten dargestellt.

    Manchmal passiert es auch, dass ein schwarzes Bild nach dem Bewegen des Illustrator-Fensters plötzlich wieder sichtbar wird.

    Das gleiche Verhalten tritt auf, wenn ich ein Bild aus einem CMYK-Dokument in ein RGB-Dokument einfüge. Wird ein schwarzes Bild über den Dateiexplorer neu verknüpft, erscheint es wieder korrekt.

    Zum Nachstellen bzw. Ursachenfindung habe ich ein RGB-Dokument erstellt und dort mehrere Bildvarianten platziert:
    - 1.RGB.jpg (Ausgangszustand, alle Bilder korrekt sichtbar)
    - 2.RGB-zu-CMYK.jpg (nach Umschalten des Dokumentmodus auf CMYK sind die RGB-Bilder zerstört)
    - 3.CMYK-zurueck-RGB.jpg (nach Rückstellen auf RGB sind die RGB-Bilder wieder korrekt, die CMYK-Bilder jedoch schwarz)

    Daraufhin habe ich die gleichen vier Bilder anstatt verknüpft eingebettet und mehrfach zwischen RGB und CMYK gewechselt – dabei traten keinerlei Probleme auf. Alle Bilder blieben stabil, ohne Schwarz oder Verfärbungen.

    Meine Vermutung: Illustrator verliert beim Umschalten des Dokumentfarbmodus den Bezug zu den verknüpften Dateien, was zu den beschriebenen Fehlern führt.

    Workaround: Bilder einbetten. Das funktioniert zuverlässig, vergrößert aber die Dateigröße erheblich (was bei meinen Layouts mit meist 6 verschiedenen Versionen pro Plakat sehr unpraktisch ist).

    Fragen:
    Haben andere Nutzer das gleiche Problem?
    Handelt es sich um einen bekannten Bug?
    Gibt es eine Lösung, ohne Bilder einbetten zu müssen?

18. Can’t edit colors in a selection

    When going to edit a color CMYK mixture the mixtures go blank and then it acts as if their is no fill color. I am trying to edit the CMYK mix to match the PMS mix and it keeps glitching after my latest update. You can see in my image that even though the color is slected it shows no color in the fill or a question mark.

20. Double Click on Fill results in Black

    Double clicking on the Fill (bottom of tools palette), when the current fill is a gradient results in the fill turning black, in stead of opening the Gradient Editor, which might be helpful and intuitively right.

    Please make this happen:
    Double click on the Fill at the bottom of the tools palette should open the color editor that is most likely:
    -RGB color should open RGB editor, CMYK should open CMYK editor, Gradient should open Gradient Editor, etc.
