Realtime Preview makes guides and objects without fill and stroke disappear when moving
In Illustrator 24.1 the real time editing feature makes guides or other objects that have no fill or stroke or an object with a white fill and no stroke disappear when moved.

I spoke with the support team, and the only solution they offered was to disable the CPU. Considering this is a computer worth nearly $4,000, it seems highly impractical not to be able to take full advantage of its resources. A more efficient solution would be highly appreciated.

So I'm currently on RTX 4090 and would like to upgrade, I was thinking about buying whole server room since I really need my guides. One more question to Adobe, what software do you use for vector graphics? Because with so many bugs it can't be Illustrator, other wise you would know by now, how bad it is.

Adobe you need to address this. The realtime drawing feature was obviously an improvement and should stay, but no user ever wanted guides to disappear *while* they are actively using them. This is so obvious that it's painful to even write.

Really frustrated with this bug. I frequently use custom guides (converting lines / shapes to guides, not created from ruler) to assist with my design files. When GROUPED guides are dragged with the selection arrow, they completely disappear, making it impossible to reposition the guides (unless outline mode is activated). Oddly, a single guide or multiple ungrouped guides remain visible if repositioned with the selection arrow. This is the kind of bug that has massive implications for workflow, and needs to be fixed.

139 votes and 5 years later and this is still not fixed. Is it really that hard?

This is driving me nuts when I try to align cropped images. It used to work nicely but not now. Please fix it.

When you break a workflow like that you not only drive people nuts but waste hours of their time with unbillable hours. Adding features is ok. I can elect to use them or not. But changing fundamental behaviors that have been in place for decades is just sadistic.

Edges get disabled when you use GPU Preview. Sure there should be a way to view them still without loosing the performance boost.

I've been using Alienware 25 AW2518Hf gaming monitor and it is one of the https://monitormega.com/best-monitor-for-fighting-games/ best fighting games monitors. One of my friends suggested me this monitor to me, it's been a year now I'm using this monitor and I regret nothing. If you want to go with this I'm 100% sure you will not regret it.

Here's a new video showing that, as I suspected and mentioned, it is not Hide Edges. It's a bug.

Toggling Hide Edges looks exactly like your video to me.
Here’s the GIF. What is the difference? -

I don't think this was the issue. Restarting the computer and Illustrator fixed the problem.
Also toggling Show/Hide Edges doesn't replicate this issue for me. -
It feels like Cmd+H was pressed unintentionally, and Illustrator stopped showing edges to you. Please try to enable them back, with Ctrl+H or via View > Show Edges.
Does it help? -

When moving shapes around the artboard, the bounding box disappears. This makes positioning objects with no stroke or fill almost impossible.
Video attached showing behaviour.
