Live preview of color is now live in Illustrator 27.1.1, for Color Picker dialog, Color panel, Properties and Control panel, and Appearance panel.
It works in GPU mode only.

Hi ,
The bug will be fixed when PS is upgraded to the latest version 22.3.1 . Kindly update PS to 22.3.1 and Bridge to the latest version. If the issue still happens, kindly reset your Settings in both PS and Bridge.
Regards,

I am happy to share that we have fixed this bug in our latest release – 26.1.0 which is available worldwide now.
Going forward, our goal is to fix as many top User-Voice bugs as possible and as frequently as possible. Given the nature of the fixes, some of the bugs will take a longer time to fix, but we are on it.
You can update to the latest release using Creative Cloud desktop App: https://helpx.adobe.com/in/creative-cloud/help/creative-cloud-updates.html
Thank you for all the feedback. Keep it coming!

The distribute spacing value still gets stuck in points. September 24, 2020. This bug was also documented at https://community.adobe.com/t5/illustrator/align-to-objects-unit-change/m-p/11053672?page=1.

As of April 21, 2020 this bug still persists over a year after the original report. Seems like it would be a simple fix...

This same issue has also been described at https://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/333657-illustrator-feature-requests/suggestions/37523554-distribute-spacing-in-align-tab-uses-wrong-units.

In my experience of this bug, distribute spacing always uses points as the units, no matter what the default document unit is. It also will not allow me to type in a unit, for example by typing in "1 in". Instead, the spacing has to be converted to points. so in the case of 1 inch, it would be 72.

The bug is no longer a problem in latest Illustrator releases. If you ever encounter this problem ever again, please comment back.

Is this related to the bug reported at https://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/601447-illustrator-bugs/suggestions/36859432-align-units?
In that bug, the value for distribute spacing doesn't show a unit of measurement either but calculates the spacing in points.

Indeed, currently Illustrator allows to export only some formats with lower resolution (4 PPI minimum), using Export As dialog — PNGs, JPEGs, WebPs...
Meanwhile, TIFF, TGA, PSD is capped to 72. These are not available in Export Assets / for Screens dialog.
Save for Web (Legacy) does not have a way to assign a resolution at all (since the value has no meaning for screens, as is left blank — it gets treated as 72 PPI by most viewers).

Currently, Export for Screens and Asset Export both have a minimum limitation of 36 ppi for raster export. Getting around it by setting a height or width for the export is not a viable option when multiple assets should be exported with consistent ppi. Adobe, please allow exporting of custom resolutions lower than 36 ppi.

Regarding my previous comment, the Transform panel shows the options for live shapes as desired. It is a little confusing since these options are labeled "Rectangle Properties", "Ellipse Properties", et cetera and that is why I expected them in the Properties panel rather than the Transform panel, but having them visible by default is better functionality even if the panel name is a bit of a mismatch.

Besides the type work described above, when working with live shapes it would also be much better to have the ability to edit their options readily available in the properties panel rather than have to click the ellipses to see "more options". The user should be able to choose to show them by default rather than have them hidden.

An admin reached out directly asking for some more specifics about my experience with this bug but I thought it would be helpful to share screen recordings of the issue here as well. The problem seems to start when objects are spread far apart on the canvas.
