    I agree with what Egor wrote.
    It's a small but very annoying bug, and I have the same problem.

    When I create Illustrator tutorials (even if they are official Adobe ones), I am forced to take screenshots in the wrong state.
    Dashed lines are a common feature that I always explain to beginners, so if they're not in the right state, they'll get confused.

    Illustrator is an app for professionals, so incorrect results of drawing with the set values should be avoided.

    This problem is reportedly fixed in the latest Beta Build 30.5.0.18. You can update and test if it’s truly gone.

    However, please not there are some known issues with this particular build:

    • Opening recent files from Home Screen Recent section is not working (opening recent files from File > Open Recent Files works fine).
    • Generative Expand does not open its own HUD when used after Generate Vector, Generative Shape Fill, or Sketch to Vector. Instead, the previous tool's HUD is displayed and Generative Expand remains inaccessible. Workaround: Ungroup the generative content first, then apply Generative Expand.
    • Half of Astute Graphics plugins can’t get loaded. Both teams are now aware of the problem.

    The latest Beta Build 29.6.91 introduces first changes to the way how recent font section works. Now Ai tries to find the position of the currently chosen font in the main list.

    There are several known issues.

    • If you deselect a text and select it again — Ai will still jump to the recent section’s font when we open the dropdown
    • The recent section is not fixed and gets scrolled while navigating the list, making the access to recent fonts harder that it is now in the General build
