We have released a new version today - 3.0.1
There is an ability added in the settings within the application to turn off canvas rotation. You can toggle the setting to turn on and off the rotation.

Hi Everyone,
Can you please provide a screenshot or step-by-step details of what you are trying to do. I ask because it’s working fine for me (see attached screenshot; it’s quite possible that I misinterpreted what you are trying to achieve). Could it be that the negative offset you are applying is greater than the size of the object. In that case, it won’t work. Otherwise it should.

Have this problem.
Illustrator 24.0.1
MacOS 10.14.6
I also save my files to Google Drive File Stream; 36.0.18.0I understand that you think you fixed this in 24.0.2, so I should update.
But based on a comment below that mentions the issue persisting even after they updated, and them also using Google Drive File Stream, I'm wondering if that's the issue. -

Hi Everyone,
Thanks for the feedback. Want to give an update that we have removed the dialog, and the new experience is available in our latest release build – 24.1.1 for Win and 24.1 for Mac which is available worldwide now, in case you want to give it a try. Now, there will be no blocking message, we will show a “soft message” which will auto-dismiss .
You can update to the latest release using Creative Cloud desktop App: https://helpx.adobe.com/in/creative-cloud/help/creative-cloud-updates.html
Thank you for all the feedback. Keep it coming!

It’s dangerous to call things Smart... When they behave dumb, the name sound like an insult. Sadly, this is the case.
Please provide more specific cases, with video proofs, ask you colleagues to share and vote, to move this further. This is the way to force changes to things that are broken — be vocal and persistent. Thank you all and let’s hope we get heard.

Haha, yeah people have been asking for this for YEARS. The whole "oh uh... we'll get around to that later" response is kind of hilarious.

I am happy to share that we have fixed this bug in our latest release – 23.0.6 which is available worldwide now.
Going forward, our goal is to fix as many top User-Voice bugs as possible and as frequently as possible. Given the nature of the fixes, some of the bugs will take a longer time to fix, but we are on it.
You can update to the latest release using Creative Cloud desktop App: https://helpx.adobe.com/in/creative-cloud/help/creative-cloud-updates.html
Thank you for all the feedback. Keep it coming!

Please get in touch with us at any of the other support channels – https://helpx.adobe.com/support.html . Since this is not a generic issue that we can reproduce at our end, we will need someone to look into your machine to figure out what is going on here.

Here we go, the first Beta version with the Dimension tool. Still very basic, but more features are to come. Please try the Beta 27.7 (available in the Beta section in your Creative Cloud Desktop application), test the tool and give the team your feedback here in comments. and refer to roadmap to see what will be added later.

My personal answers to @Yogesh Sharma's questions:
1. It would have to be inside Illustrator first and foremost. Personally, I frequently send pngs of an object, with measurements shown visually. The people I send these to would not likely be able to use an online service to figure out all of these measurements themselves. But- the additional separate online service idea you mentioned sounds neat, and would be cool to have in addition. Provided it is an online service that would be easy to use for people outside of the "Adobe" network, that don't have subscriptions or accounts.
2: I use mostly horizontal and vertical dimensions- but angular dimensions would be handy as well.
Details on workflow; The projects I usually need this for are when I send graphics to be screen printed onto a product, and along with the "graphic" file, I will send a second file with dimensions shown for each section. Also for sending sticker design files- with a separate file visually showing the height and width specs of the sticker.
What I'm imaging is a tool similar to like exists in CAD, where you can click a point and draw a line, then the measurement of that line just shows up to the side, and the two end points of that line show up as arrows.

When using two fingers to zoom in or out, it is far too easy to accidentally move your fingers a bit, and all the sudden your entire canvas has been rotated a bit. It's extremely aggravating. Especially since the first reaction to everything on your screen being moved is to hit "undo" which doesn't respond to canvas rotations so then you also end up undoing your last action.
There should be a way to lock the canvas orientation so that a wrong slip of the finger when adjusting your view doesn't rotate your entire world.
Having to so delicately and carefully zoom in or out makes the process feel very unnatural. And especially as a user coming from the desktop version, it makes me want to fling my ipad across the room.
Thanks!
