Adobe Illustrator's Multithreading Journey Begins!
Dear Illustrator Community,
I'm thrilled to announce that we've embarked on an exciting journey to bring multithreading capabilities to Adobe Illustrator. This significant undertaking will enhance performance and responsiveness across various aspects of the application.
While this is a complex process that will take some time to fully implement, I wanted to share our progress so far.
Our Approach
We've strategically begun by focusing on the most computationally intensive operations—those that typically take more time and block the main thread, resulting in slower response times while you work. By moving these operations to separate threads, we aim to significantly improve your overall experience with Illustrator.
It's important to note that you may see more noticeable impact in some areas than others initially. However, we want to assure you that this is just the beginning, and we will continue this journey to bring improvements across…

Please get in touch with us at any of the other support channels – https://helpx.adobe.com/support.html . Since this is not a generic issue that we can reproduce at our end, we will need someone to look into your machine to figure out what is going on here.

Hi Everyone,
The fix has been rolled out and is available in our latest release build – 24.1.1 for Win and 24.1 for Mac which is available worldwide now.
What’s new in 24.1: https://helpx.adobe.com/illustrator/using/whats-new.html
You can update to the latest release using Creative Cloud desktop App: https://helpx.adobe.com/in/creative-cloud/help/creative-cloud-updates.html
Thank you for all the feedback.
An error occurred while saving the comment Gerald commentedI have masked artwork that clips part of an image. Export using screens as png shows the masked artwork.
Export as Using Artboards does as well.
Export as (not with artboard) shows the proper export I was expecting but not the size artboard size.

An error occurred while saving the comment Gerald commentedThere is banding from black and white when I do a gradient and it does not matter what size the object is I am doing the gradient onto.
A nice smooth gradient is important without banding. I have seen this done on many items, not sure what they used, but the gradients were so smooth and flowing.
I then tested it with white that went to 50% grey and still banding.
Why is the quality of the gradient tool so terrible in illustrator?
Also, why is it so complicated to get the color you want from the library, or any color into the gradient tool? Can you make the gradient tool work like it does in photoshop? That is a nice user interface. Course that one also has quality issues.

I am happy to share that ‘Auto spell-check’ feature has been shipped in the latest version of Illustrator. Here is how to enable/disable it in the latest release : https://helpx.adobe.com/in/illustrator/using/whats-new/2020.html#spellcheck

Please provide comparison screenshots for the designs you can see a clear difference between these two export methods.
There is a related bug report, and perhaps the quality discussed here is actually a bug: http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/601447/suggestions/38987995
Even if it’s somethings else, it’s not OK the request about image quality does not have a single image as an example. Please share!
An error occurred while saving the comment Gerald commentedThe quality of the exported image from: Export for Screens, Export, and Legacy are so very different.
The best quality png is export! However, export does not crop the image to the artboard, it exports the size that all hidden items are located, but not exporting them, it is transparent. I am not sure why it does that. what was the point of this?
Why are there different qualities of export? Why do you limit the quality we can export, or why do you degrade the image when it is exported?
An error occurred while saving the comment Gerald commentedI guess I missed the point of this Feature Request.
Can you make the quality of the "export for screens" the same, if not better, than the legacy export or Export As? Thank you - geraldGerald shared this idea · -

This subject is very interesting to me as I create banners for our company either for events like our fair, home shows all over California, and other places.
The largest I have done is a 15' x 6' (or 4.572m x 1.8288m, why? That is what they wanted. It is for roofing, solar, leafguard, and solatube. 300/cmyk. 70% is vector graphics and text, the 40% is large images of the products on houses. which were embedded the first time i sent it to the printer but the file was only 214MB. uploaded to google drive then they grabbed it.
the next time I did it, I unbedded them, sent the four 5mg images separately and sent the ai file which was no bigger than 32 mb.
Am I doing something wrong?
